"For us it was perfect,
A couple of lads up for the football
The good -
Great location
Shower lovely
Cheap
The bad - can hear the neighbours quite clearly through the wall,
No cupboard to hang your clothes.
All in all It’s a no thrills place to lay your head
Did the job for us"
"Check in was quick and the Reception Staff very knowledgeable, helpful, friendly and polite.
The room was immaculately clean and had everything we needed and expected.
Breakfast Room was busy but the Staff were again friendly, polite and welcoming. There was a good choice of food and we didn’t feel rushed despite the number of guests dining at the same time.
My Wife had mobility issues and a Blue Badge for car parking.
There are about 8 Disabled Parking spaced directly in front of the hotel entrance, and we were lucky to have parked in one of these. The spaces are not allocated, so it’s first come first served however the main hotel car park is just a few metres across a quiet road and there are ample parking spaces available. Drop off for disabled people is easy as you can drive right upto the front entrance if necessary.
Parking is charged at £12 per night because we booked via Hotels.com however I understand that booking directly with the hotel includes parking in the room charge.
The hotel comprises two buildings with a bridge link across the canal. The main building is very quiet with the rear facing rooms overlooking the canal and the front facing rooms overlooking residential buildings.
The other building is accessed via the bridge link which is on Floor 2, there is a lift from Reception.
In the second building the front facing rooms overlook the canal and are quiet with the rear rooms overlooking the dual carriageway. There’s a slight noise, but no problems"
"We had a lovely night once we had been upgraded and moved from having an adjoining door which wasn't very private to a lovely room. We're only there one night as had a hospital appointment but everything was great. Lovely snack in the bar which was massive but gorgeous. Hotel was lovely and quiet and we slept very well. Staff were very helpful. Not impressed with having to pay for car park feel that as we were booking a luxury hotel car parking should be included made it feel a little cheap and took away from the luxury of our stay. Maybe hotel guests should be able to add the car park fees when booking. Just an idea."
"This is an iconic place to stay. The public areas are awesome. All of the staff were friendly and welcoming. We only stayed in a standard room which was fine, very clean bathroom. However it was pretty shabby chic. Ir had character and would still stay there compared to a travel lodge etc but…. Rooms and only satisfactory"
