This is a much older hotel where they have made serious effort to make it more modern and comfortable. The rooms are on the smaller side. No lift in the building. First impressions are not great. On the outside it really doesn’t look as quaint as the picture. On the inside it’s small and dated but you can tell steps have been taken to spruce it up. Overall though it grows on you. The bath is very small but modern. The room is small but the bed is quite comfortable. No much space for your luggage. The morning breakfast staff are great and the included breakfast is better than any other hotel I’ve stayed in the UK. so, not luxury but decent.

Ive stayed here many times no issues! Large car park, to the rear , freshly cooked breakfast each morning , they don’t do evening meals, so it’s either 10 minute walk to the pub one way or the other way is 20 minute walk into exeter for something to eat. Where there plenty of choice

We stayed in July, was very hot. There was no air con but we had a fan in the room. Shower was very slow and bed small ( I like a king size if for two people) Overall was ok, closed to the town, free parking and breakfast was excellent. Staff very friendly. I would recommend for short stay.

Clean and staff excellent.Room bin emptied every day and toilet sanitized,bed also made.Breakfast was excellent with great choice.Parking was no problem,but could be if you go out all day and come back late as I noticed that there were many vans there overnight. No AC but a good fan was supplied as we stayed in a mega heatwave where temps were often over 30 during our stay.Easy walk to city and thre Quayside.

Great hotel within walking distance of Exeter centre. Parked there on arrival after checking with member of staff if that was ok. Bedroom looked like recently refurbished, bed was very comfortable. We had a room at the back so nice and quiet as hotel on quite a busy road. Work was being done on the hotel but didn’t hear any noise from it on the Friday afternoon when we checked in. Bathroom could have done with a little extra cleaning re mould on grout but didn’t affect us. Good shower with plenty hot water. Large towels though one was a tad shabby if I really need to pick a fault, still worked ok. Tea, coffee, milk and a couple of biscuits supplied. Nice toiletries in the bathroom. Excellent full English breakfast in the morning with very attentive member of staff on hand. Asked if I could have juice which was on the continental menu and noticed he then offered juice to other visitors who ordered from the main menu. Excellent service. Would have no issue staying there again, would probably ask for the same room. All in all a very good hotel at an excellent price
