The Space:
Saffrondreams Farmstay by Tiny Away is a beautifully furnished tiny home with all modern comforts in the Canterbury Region, just 38 minutes from Christchurch. Waikuku Beach, The Groynes, Bottle Lake Forest Park, and Mount Hutt Ski are a few of the nearby attractions in the area.
The tiny house is designed for guests to enjoy fresh air, big skies, and natural peace and tranquillity. A secluded, private hideaway with unobstructed, 180-degree views of the Southern Alps from both your front door and your bedroom window. When in season, beautiful purple saffron blooms greet you in the morning, sheep graze right up to your front door, and birds sing to keep you company. And on a clear night, you can see the Milky Way peering down at you.
A cozy 139-square-foot tiny home with easy access to water, split air conditioning, a kitchenette, cooking equipment, and excellent bathroom facilities. These amenities include a flush toilet, hand basin, and shower (gas heated for hot showers).
IMPORTANT NOTE: If you're booking for a group, we also have a second tiny home, "Saffrondaze Farmstay," available with 24 hours' notice, ensuring you have even more cozy holiday homes to enjoy.
Guest Access:
Guests will have access to our cozy tiny home and its surroundings, including, by prior arrangement, the Saffron Field, permaculture orchard, sheep paddock, Saffron Farm, and Passive House.

The ideal base to savour the many photo-worthy spots around the foothills of the Southern Alps, just 38 minutes from Christchurch, is a perfect retreat for tourists to rest after their long flight before embarking on an exciting self-drive holiday in our beautiful South Island.
Local highlights include Waikuku Beach, Palms Shopping Centre, The Groynes, Bottle Lake Forest Park, Mount Hutt Ski, Willowbank Wildlife Reserve, and Oxford Village.
Getting Around:
By car:
- We recommend guests travel by private vehicle to explore the neighbourhood, the scenic delights, and attractions available.
By public transport:
- No public transportation is available.
Other Things to Note:
- Pets not allowed
- Wifi not available
- Mobile reception is good
- No smoking allowed on the property
- No unregistered guests or visitors are allowed
- Maximum two adults OR one adult and one child only due to limited space
- Keep in mind that BBQ grills and outdoor fire pits are not available during a total fire ban
- We would like to advise guests that longer stays or later check-outs will incur an additional charge
- Farm guidelines will be provided before your booking is confirmed. Kindly read through them and follow all instructions during your visit.

- For stays of 5 nights or more, an additional cleaning fee will be collected to help maintain our cassette toilet and ensure a clean and fresh experience for all guests. We appreciate your understanding.
