"Stayed in a family suite with lounge and kitchen. Everything you needed for your stay was there. Lovely clean accommodation and even a real fire. Bed super comfy. Evening meal superb with good portions and attentive staff who were very knowledgeable about the menu and wine list. Fabulous cosy lounges with log fires to choose from and relax. Great bar. Breakfast was excellent with a good choice of dishes. This country hotel is only a few minutes drive from Helmsley for shopping. Had a really lovely stay and would return in a heart beat. Thank you. "Our stay at the Golden Fleece was great! Easy check-in, lovely room. Food in the evening was great but we didn't have breakfast so can't comment. Easy walkable distance to James Herriot’s house. Parking very easy and felt secure! All in all very nice."
