Restaurants were on the other side of what was effectively a dual carriageway with few convenient crossing points but a good choice of outlets. Rostock as a whole is not an obvious place to visit but there is plenty to see from both the historic and communist eras. The beach resort of Warnemunde is good for high-end shopping and eating although the beach itself is a disappointment. Bad Doberan is worth a visit for the minster church and the "Molli" narrow-gauge railway."
