The Hubbardton Battle was the only Revolutionary War battle fought on Vermont soil. This is where, on July 7, 1777, Vermont, Massachusetts and New Hampshire troops ended the British pursuit. There is a small museum and a half mile walking trail around the field with signs telling of the history of the battle. Gorgeous views of the surrounding mountains. Every year, over the July 4th weekend, there is a reenactment held here, where thousands of people gather to relive the battle.

It was great to listen to the river at night, and super easy to get to Bolton Landing and other nearby towns. "I was in the area for the 250th anniversary of the Green Mountain Boys' assault on Fort Ticonderoga and stayed for two nights at "Camp Howard".I had the best time, it's a really cute yet very spacious cottage, remote and yet easily accessible along a private road.It was truly refreshing to not have cell service, it took me a few hours before I truly relaxed.There is a river down below the back of the cottage and I fell asleep at night hearing the noise of the water.Great property in a wonderful...

This place has all the stuff of home inside, the hardwood floor from top to bottom and each room has a special place to make home.
