Grillmasters won’t hesitate to test their skills on the gas grill or electric smoker, while appetizers are prepared inside in the kitchen, fully equipped with state-of-the-art appliances. The kitchen also features a crock pot, waffle maker, electric roaster, full set of Waterless cookware and more for your culinary convenience.

With a full stomach, venture out to explore the nearby hiking trails just beyond the front gate. Return home to unwind in the great room, highlighted by a two-story wall of windows and a stunning river rock fireplace emulating a classic cabin-in-the-woods feel. Find a show to watch on the flat-screen satellite TV or curl up for a nap on the soft leather sofa.

Feel your stress melt away in the calming heat of the dry sauna and, afterward, drift off to dreamland in the private master bedroom boasting a king bed and custom log furnishings.

The rest of your group will have plenty of sleeping options between the remaining bedrooms.

Stroll down to the front gate to embark on a hiking, mountain biking or four-wheeling adventure, or hop in the car and drive 10 minutes north to Fairplay Beach for an afternoon of fishing and rafting!

More outdoor opportunities eagerly await about an hour away in Salida, home to Monarch Ski Area and awesome ziplining tours. Alternatively, head up to Breckenridge, a 45-minute drive away, with your hiking boots laced up and ready to go. Come the colder season, the area offers award-winning ski runs and thrilling sleigh rides for the kids.

History buffs won’t find it hard to get their fix as they choose between a historic walking tour in Como, a driving tour along Weston Pass or a train ride under the Royal Gorge Bridge.

Give the chef a day off and choose from a plethora of dining options nearby. Find all your breakfast and lunch favorites with a Mexican twist at Brown Burro Cafe or keep it simple with a coffee and bagel at The Java Moose. We came to Fairplay for a wedding. We had 12 guest with us. The home was beautiful. Just 5 min outside of FairPlay. Plenty of beds for everyone plus additional beds that were never used. We enjoyed the many amenities. The kitchen was very well stocked!

Great Place!
We had a large family reunion and this house was perfect for it! All of the beds were nice and the pillows were super comfy! Lots of towels and blankets for everyone. The kitchen had everything that we needed plus lots of space for all of our stuff. We used the fire place every night and the sauna was a nice touch that was used as well. The very large dining table with an insert to make it bigger was nice for eating and playing card games. We got perfect weather on our last full day and we had lots of room outside for yard games plus plenty of parking. The area is nice and quiet and very close to town. If you have a large group then this is the perfect house- so many beds for everyone! Pat was a great host and answered any questions that we had very quickly. Thank you for helping us have a wonderful vacation!

The house was clean, the property owner was great, it was the perfect place to celebrate my 30th birthday. Close enough to Breckinridge so we could go hang out there. It was great! The kitchen was stocked! The only issue we had was running out of toilet paper but that’s an easy fix :)

Great Family Cabin
This was a great cabin for our Cousin Crew Family trip. The bunk room was perfect for the young cousins and the basement was perfect for those with children. We had one cousin in a wheelchair and the main floor room near the bathroom was great. The kitchen and grills were fantastic and perfect for our family-style meals! Beautiful home and location
My family and I has a wonderful stay while all being under the same roof. It was a short 40 minute drive to Keystone and only 25 minutes to Breckenridge. The owner was always there if we needed him and provided great hospitality. We will definitely stay here again next time we are in Colorado!

Beautiful home!
Beautiful vacation home with plenty of room for a large group. The place was clean and owner was easy to work with. Saw huge herds of elk as we drove up which was amazing. Knew we couldn't have fire in the outdoor fire pit (due to HOA) which was a bummer as it would have been beautiful. All in all a great place and an excellent vacation!

Great Stay
The cabin was clean and ready to go. Very nice surrounding area, filled with trees and mountain views. Beds are a little used, oven didn't heat up all the way, and absolutely no campfires allowed whatsoever. The cabin states that it sleeps 25 but the living space provides little room to maneuver about with that many. I would suggest under 15-20 is more like it. It was a quiet getaway and with a smaller size group, we would come back for sure!

Too many problems
We traveled over 1500 miles to this destination and didn’t anticipate any problems. The first night the house was extremely overheated and the children ended up sick. The previous guest had turned off a fan for the heating unit which caused us to put the kids in the basement because of natural gas fumes on the second floor. During this time a neighbor knocked in the door complaining of a fire we had started in the fire pit (all emails I had received told us thst we were able to use fire pit and wood provided). I apologized and tried to explain the situation to a very rude and hateful woman who in return mocked us and reported us the next day to the homeowners association. Overall the house would of been a perfect match with the exception of the couple problems. We ended up leaving a day early because we couldn’t relax and enjoy our trip. After we left I received a text from the owner who said the cleaning lady would be there at 10 instead of 11 because more guest would be arriving later that day. In my opinion we should of been compensated for the day lost instead of hurried out (even though we had chose to leave). The owner was extremely kind and helpful but I can’t leave a high rating because of the issues we had.

Wonderful family vaction
We had a family reunion at this home and hosted families from Italy, Michigan and Iowa. Ages 4-66 enjoyed the great outdoors and mountains! The home is showing some age, but worked well, and then you didn't have to worry about putting the first 'ding' in anything. We needed to do some extra cleaning in the kitchen when we arrived! Hikes, the bunk room, secret movie room, multiple bedrooms and extra shower and bathroom downstairs were all great, as was the outdoor activities the kids found to do in the yard around the house! We really appreciated the 3 ponds and the many fishing poles provided! Many hours were spent making memories at the pond! We also marveled at the herd of pronghorn we saw every trip out. We did family pictures with a mountain background (on the way to the ponds) and the horse and donkeys came to join in on the fun. Definitely a great vacation, thanks!
