We spent the majority of our time on that wonderful deck, enjoying the sights and sounds of the river. There were a variety of birds with also ducks, geese and a loon, fish jumping, a couple of squirrels jumping and playing. Saturday there were 3 barges passing in opposite directions at once. Sunday morning, just after sunrise, two were passing at the same time. Very peaceful.Saturday afternoon we made an hour drive over to The Log Inn, in Haubstadt. Built in 1825. One of the old, original rooms, was dined in by Abe Lincoln. Worth the drive.Derby is a nice, friendly little town."

"This was a nice hotel..The outside.couod.use some.sprucimg up but our room was very nice- the carpet looked new, the beds were very comfortable, the room was spacious and we had a microwave and a small fridge too. The front desk person was very personable and very polite. We checked in around 9:00 pm without any problems. The breakfast was nothing special but I would definitely recommend this hotel."
