Scandic Grand Central Helsinki

10/10 Excellent

"The Scandic Grand Central Helsinki is wonderfully situated next to the central railway station making an international flight to Helsinki airport (for which the railway station is situated beneath the terminals) and the subsequent journey into the city an absolute breeze (download and use the HSL app too). Check-in was straightforward with staff very polite and helpful. There is a breakfast restaurant situated near to reception (which I didn't use) and a very nice bar and terrace restaurant (which I did use) and which serves very good food and a wide variety of drinks. The hotel maintains an art-deco theme and a walk along the corridors felt a bit like being back in a different era. The room was very well appointed. It was a generous size with all the amenities I needed and the walk-in shower was fantastic. Toiletries were provided and replaced if necessary meaning less to have to carry. The hotel is a beautiful building situated conveniently to walk into the heart of Helsinki. I would happily stay here again."

"It was a good place to stay Close to the centre of the City. The hotel was clean and comfortable. The staff were very helpful. There was a good varied breakfast. The dining area was closed when we were there. However there were many food outlets nearby. They varied in nature. There was something for everyone."

"I will definitely be staying here again. Actually in about a week and I’ve referred a bunch of friends to stay there since we’re all leaving Finland the following day. It was incredibly convenient after getting off my flight and also super convenient to have a train station below the next morning. The breakfast buffet was the largest one I’ve ever seen. The food was pretty good. I loved the smoothies. I just wish the coffee cups were bigger so I didn’t have to keep getting up and getting more so often. To go coffee for the free coffee for being a member would also be nice."
