"My husband and I and two friends from the States recently spent three wonderful nights at The Old Church on the Isle of Skye. The beautiful old church has been thoughtfully and beautifully restored and renovated into two 3 bedroom units with ample amenities. We were in the Preachers Rest and had beautiful views of the Little Minch Strait. The stunning grounds of the property were immaculate and lovingly cared for. We would recommend this property and its proprietors without hesitation and hope...

"The property was very close to town, 7 minute walk. Beautiful view of the bay. The property could use a different coffee pot, Nespresso or some thing similar. A few utensils missing. We cooked . "

"The cottage is very quaint. There was a little confusion over laundry facilities as the description said there was a dryer but in actuality there wasn’t. However the owner quickly responded when we messaged her. The farmer next door is a delight to chat with. He’s a lifelong resident and he shared a lot of stories about growing up there. It was also fun walking down to the water and finding treasures down at the shore. "

The info and photos online are dated and because that set expectations, our initial impression was disappointing - which planted a seed of doubt. Thankfully, the TV, mattresses and towels were all fine. Our stay would have also been enhanced by any kind of general info letter. We had to get in touch with the host for the wi-fi code and figure out the systems for ourselves (i.e. the heating -- but once we figured it out, it...

"They provide washer machine but not the dryer. One of the bathrooms is inside the queen bed room has very heavy smells. Needs to have more ventilation. "

"I had an excellent stay at the Sligachan Hotel. The hotel is steps away from breathtaking scenery for walking or hiking and a quick bus/car ride to Portree for shopping and dinner. Martin, the manager, was so helpful and kind. He drove my friend and I from Portree to our train because the bus schedule that day was not aligning well with our train schedule and morning activities. He also gave us great tips on the best things to do on the Isle of Skye and made sure that all of the guests were enjoying their stay. The breakfast was high quality - I loved the smoked salmon and eggs and the fresh fruits and yogurts. The receptionists were always friendly and helpful whenever we had any questions. I would recommend the Sligachan hotel to anyone who wants a comfortable stay right near the Cuillian Mountains and a quick commute to Portree."
