2nd stay and didn't disappoint!

This was our second stay at Courage Cabin and it was just as wonderful as the first. It's just perfect, and the only place we will stay when visiting NC. Clean, fully stocked, inviting deck with hot tub, and comfy beds. Ski slope only about 30 minutes away. We'll be headed back a third time next February.

Extra relaxing

Courage Cabin was a welcoming home in a quiet neighborhood close to West Jefferson. It was so easy to relax here we didn't want our trip to end. This cabin has definitely made our favorites list and we can't wait to visit again. The host was gracious and quick to respond. The cabin has all the amenities and info from the host that made navigating anything extra easy.

Absolutely love this place!!

This was our 5th trip to Courage Cabin along with our 2 dogs. We all love it!! You are relaxingly secluded but close enough to the wonderful towns of West Jefferson, Boone and Blowing Rock. This place has every amenity you could imagine for both humans and furry companions. Jill is very helpful and easy to communicate with. We will be back again!!

Our favorite place

My husband, our 2 dogs and I have stayed in many VRBO properties, but this is our favorite. I can feel the stress melt away just driving up the driveway. This was our fourth stay at the cabin. It is always immaculate and the property manager is appropriately communicative. The view from the back porch is amazing! The hot tub is super nice. Our dogs love the large fenced-in yard and all of the doggie amenities. Thanks for another wonderful stay and we will definitely be back.

Our second time to Courage Cabin. Such a great place! Has everything you could ask for and is very clean! Our first time was back in 2015. We got engaged that trip. This trip in 2024 we noticed all the upgrades they had done. All fantastic! Courage Cabin will always be a special place for us!

Perfect 5 Star Getaway

This very wonderful cabin in the woods is absolutely perfect. It has everything you could possibly need, plus lots of little extras. Everything is so well explained and organized. We cooked dinner in the beautifully equipped kitchen every night, had breakfast on the deck, baked, hiked, read, watched movies, etc. It is furnished in the most lovely, cozy and luxurious way. We were there in early March but would love to come back in all seasons.

Fabulous Cabin Stay

This was our second time staying at the Courage Cabin, and once again, it was an absolute amazing time. The cabin is well equipped with anything you could need during your stay. The cleanliness of the house is impeccable. The wood burning fireplace is just an added bonus. We brought our own wood and were able to enjoy a roaring hot fire every night we were there. The hot tub is also a great amenity. It is relaxing to go have a soak on those cold, mountain nights. The owner Jill is wonderful! She is responsive and always there if you need anything. We look forward to our next stay...but until then, thank you for such a great experience!!!

Amazing View Cabin Loaded with Amenities

Can’t say enough about how relaxing our 6 night stay was. From the cozy indoors with unique decor to the kitchen stocked with everything one would need to the wonderful bath items provided to the outdoor deck with amazing views, especially the beautiful sunrises and relaxing hot tub this cabin has it all. Total privacy was provided and in the evenings it was such a joy to grill dinner on the very nice grill, enjoy a glass of wine and to relax in the hot tub after steep hikes during the day. We didn’t use the fire pit however it looked like a wonderful place to sit at night and enjoy a fire. Even though I had my kindle with me for reading I chose to read two books provided in the bookshelf while there. Location is convenient to grocery and restaurants in West Jefferson and not that far from Boone. Courage Cabin gets my highest recommendation.

Blue Ridge Bonanza

The cabin was as advertised but beyond. The view was priceless, the deck area so peaceful, a place to be alone with your thoughts. The hot tub so warm and relaxing after days spent hiking steep trails. We spent 6 nights here and loved the retreat we came back to every day. The fenced property was perfect for our two dogs. Everything one would need was supplied. Loved the decor, rustic yet elegant. The European touches and original art added a sense of warmth and comfort. Loved the large amazingly stocked kitchen. The fireplace could be so inviting however we chose not to use it as I like my rooms cool. Check in was flawless…what little communication I had was promptly answered. Fire pit looked wonderful but again we did not use. Bath products supplied were beyond expectations and reminded me of my favorite spa. Steep drive to the property but absolutely no problem. Great location to stores, Ashe County Cheese, great hiking trails and some restaurants.

45th Anniversary - Amazing Mountain Cabin

The pictures shown on VRBO were very accurate but did not do the cabin justice, Much thought was given to the interior remodel. This place is cozy, warm, and very inviting. Would recommend to everyone. We loved the deck with very comfortable seating and a perfect spot to view the gorgeous sunrises. There is a grill for cooking outside. My husband had asked for a place with a fire pit and this one did not disappoint. Kitchen had everything a cook would want and I loved the sink. The coffee bar was a special treat. The cabin was dog friendly but there was absolutely no dog odors. The cabin was spotless. If you do have a dog, it will feel spoiled here. Great location as cabin is close to West Jefferson, Blue RidgeParkway, Boone and Blowing Rock. However, this place is perfect for just being together and relaxing so do not plan in a few days for just enjoying the cabin.

Two stressed out adults and their pups needed a much needed vacation. The house had everything we needed, it was clean, the bed comfy and the view was beautiful. And a very nice hot tub. I enjoyed relaxing on the front porch during the day with my dogs on the swing watching for Hummingbirds. They did not disappoint. And the afternoons were spent on the back deck grilling out and enjoying the view and nature. We relaxed so much that we even stayed an extra night! We know the area well and usually venture out to Mast General Store in Valle Crucis and downtown West Jefferson, etc. But other than walking the dogs at the FANTASTIC Valle Crucis Community Park (right behind the Mast General Store!) and a great park we visit every year with the dogs right when you enter Jefferson on 221. We just love both parks. We did not eat out and we did not shop (except for groceries) We loved being at the cabin so much that we for once didn't venture out much. Regarding some of the reviews mentioning the dogs next door. They were not once an issue, nor did we hear them barking, except when we pulled up and our dogs joined in with the welcome. They were definitely not an issue during our stay and we were there for 5 days! So don't let the reviews about the neighbor's dogs deter you. The landscaping outside the front of the house was so pretty with lots of flowers and butterflies, and the entire yard is fenced in. Our dogs are little so they didn't get to be off leash on the property, but bigger dogs will love exploring the property. I cannot say enough about how relaxing our stay was. We enjoyed every minute of it. We were even fortunate enough to watch (and record) a far away lightening storm in the clouds. That was awesome! We will surely come back here to stay again.

Perfect hideaway!

Wow! From the moment we pulled up, to the day we left, only positive things to say about Courage Cabin. Beautiful home, so many nice touches. It smelled so good! Comfy beds, clean, modern bathrooms, fully stocked coffee bar, and so much more! The hot tub was already heated when we arrived. The deck had amazing views! We took our son snowboarding at Applachain Ski resort, which was a quick 30 min ride. Boone was close by as well, and such a neat town. We are already booking our next vacation at this hidden gem.

Wonderful Stay!

The Courage Cabin was an amazing little space for our Anniversary week vacation. My husband and I loved how cozy the cabin was and all the amenities that they thought of for our stay. The back deck being gated was great for our little dog and the view was absolutely amazing of the New River. The hot tub was huge and super fun. Having a real wood burning fireplace was so romantic on the really cold nights! They provided some wood, which was such a luxury! Communication with Jill was seamless, from check-in, throughout our stay and check-out!! We will certainly be staying here again. It definitely felt like our own little oasis in the mountains, but so close to town! Thank you for your hospitality!

Wonderful Getaway!

Courage Cabin was perfect for our Anniversary week vacation. It was cozy, well taken care of and very clean! The view of the river from the large deck was amazing and the hot tub was awesome. We rented this precious cabin for a long weekend after a tax deadline. It was remote and cozy - exactly what we were looking for! Not too far from West Jefferson, and about 40 minutes from Blowing Rock.

Wonderful!

We spent a week here for my husband's birthday and our anniversary. The house was cozy and we greatly enjoyed the back deck with the hot tub and zero gravity chairs while being enamored with the long range views. Highly recommend!
