Ambleside Salutation Hotel & Spa
Underwhelming. This is a very ordinary hotel, despite the hot tubs, pool and spa. The decor is vile, all dull browns with turquoise. In the “Troutbeck” room there is a nasty trip hazard into the bathroom. A stubbed toe was annoying but a cracked skull would have been more so. Tip: if it’s not fixed ...

Pleasantly surprised considering what I paid for studio apartment. Well equipped, spotless, spacious had everyrhing we needed. Thurnham Hall Resort
Easy to park, room was great, nice and warm, well equipped if you take your own food. We used the restaurant the food was excellent, staff friendly. Could do with a main entrance sign, it wasn’t obvious when we arrived in the dark.
