8/10 Good

We could not have chosen a better located accommodation. Literally one minute from the Ponte Vecchio and surrounded by great shops and bars. The accommodation is on the 4th floor of a building, but no problem with a lift. While it is a well located and stylish apartment with good space and facilities, it did feel tired. Quite a few of the electric sockets and lights didn’t work or flickered, the shower area really needed to be refurbished as mosaic tiles were missing and it was looking a bit grotty in the way showers do after years of use staining the grout. It all worked ok, but by day 4 the shower wasn’t draining away well (not unusual, most apartments we have stayed in in Italy have dodgy drainage). The Venetian blinds in the main room were broken and tied up and although the kitchen was well equipped it missed small useful things like a washing brush or sponge to wipe the worktops. This maybe paints a poor image, but in reality it’s a great apartment in a great location that has clearly been designed and equipped to a high standard originally but that has just become tired with use. We would choose to stay here again. Be prepared for it to be noisy - the stone street outside is busy with visitors because of its location. Better double glazing to the front would make a big difference! So near a 5 star location, apart from the above.
