"The property itself is absolutely gorgeous. The views are stunning, the pools are gorgeous and the beach is amazing. The employees working on the beach provided wonderful customer service, and the bellmen were fantastic—they gave us several great recommendations for places to enjoy while visiting Puerto Rico. The ice cream shops were also good. The one closest to the coffee shop lacked personality, but the guys at the one next to the restaurant were top-notch.
Unfortunately, the rooms are very outdated. The pictures on the walls looked old and stained, and there was a mildew smell in the sheets. I had to ask for the sheets to be changed for a week because of the smell. It also seemed like there may be a lack of training for housekeeping. The sheets were put on upside down, and when you got into the bed the entire sheet would fall to the floor. The washcloths and towels were also disappointing—they looked dirty, not crisp white, and felt rough like sandpaper.
The steak restaurant was terrible. The property service was young staffed who seemed to lack proper customer service training. Another big disappointment was that many things at the resort were closed due to low occupancy. That really isn’t fair to guests who paid their money expecting to enjoy the full resort experience.
One additional suggestion: the resort should consider removing the cheap cloth shower curtains and replacing them with glass doors.
Would I visit again? Maybe—if some of these issues were addressed."
