"Perfect location right off the Blueridge Parkway. Under new ownership , being renovated, Hardwood floors, large bathroom, very comfortable bed and pillows."
"When I looked for options to rent a hotel, I found The Oaks Victorian Inn listed in one the booking agencies and it was rated highly. I booked it and when I arrived, there was ample parking close to the entrance, making it easy for me to carry my belongings inside. The exterior of the house is one of a well-kept old victorian home with inviting rocking chairs on the large wrap-around porch. The entrance, foyer, and common areas were immaculate with mostly period furniture and decor. My room, the "Anna", was absolutely beautiful, cozy, clean and ready for a weary traveler! The bed was comfortable, the A/C unit was already set for a perfect 72º and the remote was readily accessible to change the settings. A 47" flat screen TV with programming and streaming built-in for an almost unlimited number of choices made me feel right at home! Lamps and lights were plentiful and placed in convenient areas near the bed and all tables and stands in the room. The bathroom in particular was clean well-lit. The shower was excellent, roomy and the water temperature was easy to adjust to perfection. Plenty of towels were on hand. The common areas were also comfortable and interesting with a great selection of books and games! I particularly enjoyed the "coffee bar" and although I drink only black coffee, I noticed a wide variety of flavorings and sweeteners. I met a staff member, "Kim", who was one of the most gracious hosts ever! The Inn will now be my first choice in this area from now on!"
