Maison de la Colline – Hilltop Pool Retreat

"The house is very well equipped, the bedrooms as described. Itis set in a generous garden above Apt, Great views. The pool decent size (it is heated, but that was switched off promptly on request given the temperatures in the 30s). If you are a reasonable walker, it's 15 min each way (a steep hill) to the town centre with bars, restaurants and shops. Bakery Fournil d'Antho was amazing - small selection but very well priced and freshly baked on site. Loved the Petanque court on the property!Couple of minor issues: the cabane is down wobbly steps past the pool, unlit at night. Hence not suitable for kids on own or those unsteady on feet; this made room allocation on arrival bit tricky for our mixed age family group. Secondly, kitchen is upstairs, so to eat outside on lovely shady terrace, there was a lot of carrying up and down stairs. Main issue: some aggressive texting around leaving times from the local agent on the day of departure, who sent a long job list to he completed by us, and could we ideally leave earlier than the (already earlier than average) departure time of 9am? Put a dampener on our last afternoon. I am feeding back to the owner, who had been excellent at communication prior to arrival and sent a useful guide."

"Un séjour tres agréable dans un hébergement de grande qualité. Logement idéalement situé pour découvrir le Lubéron. Nous avons beaucoup apprécié ce logement tres propre et tout à fait conforme a l annonce. Tres belle piscine qui nous a permis de nous rafraîchir aux heures les plus chaudes. Les propriétaires sont très bienveillants et disponibles. Bref un tres bon séjour nous recommandons cet hébergement."

"We had a great stay in Apt. Communication with the owner was excellent. The apartment is in a great location - right off a pedestrian street but very quiet. There is a lovely garden area right in front of the apartment. The rooms are large - we didn’t even use the LR and hung out at the huge dining table. We had all we needed to prepare meals, but had easy options within a minute or two for bread, pastries fruits and veggies. There are some nice restaurants and bars scattered around town. The Saturday market takes over the whole town, including the square outside the door, and we had coffee from the fellow who sets up steps away. Beds were comfy, hot water was always available, and we enjoyed having a washer and dryer. Apt is in a great location for visiting the Luberon - most sites are within 30 -60 minutes. We drove to Aix, plus went to Gordes, Bonnieux, Rousillon, Menerbes, Lacoste, Bedoin and Sault. We got up very early one day so one of our group could cycle up Mt Ventoux - she did it and we all enjoyed the amazing views from the top. It was blazing hot during our stay - but as long as the shutters and windows were closed in the day, it was very comfy for sleeping. The only hitch was parking - we never figured out how to drive into the square in front of the apartment, and often spent time looking around for parking spaces. However, the main square is quite close and has tons of parking, even on market day if you park in the right area of the lot."

"Superb studio, in fact it’s much more than a studio…. There’s a large bedroom with double bed, sofa bed, big wardrobe and full size dining table and chairs. Then the fully equipped kitchen and separate dining table are in another room (sort of L-shaped total building), plus separate bathroom with very large sink, good sized shower etc.Mireille (and her husband Pierre) were lovely. They were very welcoming and gave us excellent recommendations for restaurants etc. There was also wine in the fridge, plus water, eggs and melon, not to mention watermelon left outside our door on a couple of occasions. The location is excellent in the heart of the lovey quiet roads of the Luberon. We were looking for some peace and quiet after having building work for the past year on our home in England and that’s exactly what we got. Mireille and Pierre are very discreet…. Thank you for a lovely time !!"
