"I really used to like this hotel as its in a beautiful location. I won't go back unless they buck there ideas up, check in was 4pm, room not ready after driving for 5 hours, no bar open and it's miles away from Inveraray, 5pm given a room key and found out it hadn't been cleaned. Bar opened 5pm my husband got me a drink and manager or owner (he turned up about 16.50 ) said by the time we had the drink our alternative room would be ready. We were not the only ones waiting at least another 5 or 6...

"This was our second visit to Melfort Village and a week of gloriously sunny weather made it one of the best holidays we have ever had. "We had a wonderful stay at Melfort. A few days on our own, then joined by our daughters and baby grand daughter, we were cosy, warm and relaxed. The lodge was perfect, baby gates and highchair provided, and the pool lovely and warm, encouraged a swim every day! The staff are friendly and super helpful, even giving the wee one a present from Santa before she left! This was our third visit, and it definately won't be our last."

"We stayed only two nights. The property is about 30 minutes outside of Oban at the edge of a smaller loch and just outside a small village. The staff was very accommodating and helpful, including when we had an issue (likely self-inflicted) with a washing machine. We would definitely stay again, and make time to stay longer and enjoy more of the area as well as the property’s many amenities. Strongly recommended."

"The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was nice, large and had everything needed. The bathroom was small but adequate, the linens were large and fluffy. The breakfast, which was extra, we felt was good for the price paid. And consisted of cold items and a menu of hot items."

"Quirky little hotel right in Oban. Staff are wonderful. Carpet etc a little tired and stairs can be a challenge. Some rooms have sloped ceiling in the bathroom which is a little awkward. All in all it was good but priced in a way that we expected more. Parking is at public parking lot a few hundred feet away. Super convenient to walk around Oban. Oban sits below a cliff so any hotels "with a view" will require much climbing."

"Staff in general were very helpful and friendly. Lovely location overlooking the loch. The cooked breakfast was very good. The spa was good, pool long enough to get a decent swim. Jacuzzi and steam room nice too. The only drawback was that the spa only has 4 cushioned loungers so many guests had nowhere to lounge and read their books on busy afternoons, and there was a bit of a scramble when a sunlounger became free. Adequate parking."
