"We are a family of 4 who stayed one night at the beautiful Hôtel château Schengen on our way back to Norway. The staff working there where very service minded. According to my son, this was the best hotel of the whole trip!He also liked the playful dogs that lived in the castle. We can recommend this place very much, and will be happy to return later.

"Most of the staff members were great housekeeping was iffy. Some days the room was cleaned and tidied some days nothing much was done and the bed was not made. Fairly quiet shops around but they have odd opening and closing times. Great restaurant attached to the hotel open for lunch and dinner you can get room service from there to your room which is great affordable and delicious. Hotel breakfast was good nice coffee tea pastries fruit eggs etc. We felt safe and loved the ability to walk...

"We had a wonderful stay at Relais Manderen. The hotel is conveniently located and the surrounding area is exceptionally beautiful, making it a perfect base for exploring. The service was top-notch—the staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful, and we appreciated their efforts to speak a little English to help us feel at home.
The facilities were perfectly clean and well-maintained. We especially enjoyed the delicious breakfast, which we felt was excellent value for money. The selection of fresh, local products, particularly the amazing breads and cheeses, was a real highlight. We would love to return in the future."

"It was our second visit to the hotel, we first stayed here in July 2024 and again in August 2025. On both occasions, it was the last hotel we stayed in before travelling back to the UK and we thought it would be nice to end our European road trip in the same place. There's ample parking and despite there being a Casino on site you don't notice any rowdy behaviour etc. It's a respectable place and well located spot for wine aficionados.
The hotel Spa facilities are great, really clean and well maintained. Highly recommend you take swimwear with you even if you are stopping for just one night.
We dined at the hotel and the food at both dinner and breakfast are fresh and of high quality.
The only minor issue I noticed was the slightly worn out edge of our bathroom door in our hotel room - this is probably due to water damage on wood but I put this down to basic maintenance.
Other than that, definitely suggest this place as a quiet sanctuary before heading back to reality! "
"A really great stay. A very friendly welcome. The room was very clean and comfortable. Great value. Although you had to pay for the car park it was very secure and off the street. It is brilliantly close to the centre of Metz which we thought was a great city. It is a great stopover if you are travelling to Italy or beyond."
