Thanksgiving 2023
We had a wonderful Thanksgiving at Scott’s property! Upon arriving the home was absolutely striking and huge! It was decorated for Christmas and looked beautiful. The home is true to the pictures and is like stepping back in time and has such an interesting history captured in a book Scott provided along with pictures. There was more than enough room for everyone, and we had ALL the supplies needed to be comfortable and even a thoughtful touch including Thanksgiving supplies. It is also conveniently located and easy to get to stores and other activities. Again, a great experience! I would definitely recommend Scott's home to others.

Lovely old mansion - but not rental
While the house has great historical value, it probably should not be a vacation rental. Apparently it is lived in as there were clothes hanging in closets, personal items in bathrooms and drawers, and a LOT of food in kitchen! We have never experienced that in a VRBO before. BATS and guano in upstairs bedrooms. (Host could not be reached) One bedroom we needed to use could NOT be used due to window being open with extension cord going to another building! Granddaughter had to sleep on floor in room with her father. (Again, host could not be reached) Kitchen was a joke for families staying multiple days so we ate out every meal. No outlets for hair dryers and curling irons. This house does belong on historical registry, but not on VRBO! DO NOT RECOMMEND AS RENTAL!!

Transported back in time
The William J. Murphy House in Fort Smith is a hidden gem worth discovering. The historic home, built in the late 19th century, offers a glimpse into the rich architectural heritage if the region. From the moment I stepped inside, I was transported back in time by the elegant Victorian decor and intricate detailing throughout the house. Scott is very knowledgeable about the house and its original owner. If you're a history enthusiast or simply appreciate exquisite architecture, a visut to the William J. Murphy House is a must.

Gorgeous Home
House was gorgeous, owners were very accomidating. Nothing negative to say, but to would be travelers if you sleep with a cpap bring an extension cord. This is an older home with few electrical outlets. The AC was plugged into the wall by the bed. Other than that a great home.

Beautiful old home
This home is NOT child friendly nor does it have 6 bedrooms as advertised. 2 of the bedrooms were actually on enclosed porches with no AC. 2 of the advertised beds were just blow up mattresses. It is filled to the brim with old furniture & tons of breakables. The owner had the fridge full of his food -including a pan of food left in frig. We had no room for all the food we brought so we ended up buying ice & adding to our coolers the whole time. Several families attended our family reunion & we spent all our time outside on the front porch due to all the clutter & flimsy looking furniture that we were afraid to sit on. Thankfully we all brought chairs & had nice weather. Tiny kitchen. This home was more a museum than a vacation rental. It’s pretty but not for large groups.

Excellent Find
We truly enjoyed our stay at the historic Murphy House. The home is exquisite and the owners have worked very hard to furnish it in beautiful antiques. There were chocolates, snacks, and cold drinks in each of the rooms. The hosts were wonderful and very responsive when contacted. We were there to watch my nephew play baseball for UAFS and the house was the talk of the team. We plan to stay at the Murphy House next year for all of his home games.
