"Stayed at the Coat & Bear while visiting Highclere Castle. I had a room with 2 beds and it was very spacious. The staff was very nice and the food at the pub was delicious. The town of Newbury is very nice and walkable and the hotel is only about a 10-15 min walk to the Newbury train station. I would definitely stay here again. "

Located a bit away from the city centre, the hotel's deco, ambience and service were comparable to a 5-star hotel. Our room was a good size and perfect for our stay, food was very good and reasonably priced. Hungerford is a lovely place with plenty antique shops to browse through and plenty food places to enjoy. Loved my walks along the canal meeting lovely local people to chat with. Would definitely stay here again when next have the opportunity to visit. "
