"We booked to stay at Haus Saarland am Rennsteig. On arriving at the hotel we found it was closed and a notice telling us to go to another hotel, Hotel Thuringenschanze which was about 0.5km away. Since we had arrived by public transport we had to walk there with our luggage. On checking in at the new hotel we were not offered Oberhof guest cards. "Das Hotel ist in die Jahre gekommen und eignet sich für Besucher 60+, die gerne in vergangenen Zeiten schwelgen. Modern ist anders. Es liegt im Tal, ist daher ziemlich dunkel. Ich würde es als Durchgangsstation für Wanderungen empfehlen, aber nicht für einen längeren Aufenthalt. Das Frühstück war reichlich und das Personal freundlich."

Knarzende Holzdielen, bequeme Betten, ein toller alter Ofen, der wohlige Wärme verbreitet! Perfekt für eine vierköpfige Familie, oder auch noch mehr! Uns hat es an nichts gefehlt. Die Vermieter sind sehr freundlich und haben gute Tips für Ausflüge und Restaurants gegeben. Die Umgebung bietet vielfältige Ausflugsmöglichkeiten...

"We spent Xmas and New Years at the cabin. We had a wonderful time. This is an ideal place to completely unwind and relax. The forest is 2 minutes away. We were lucky we had snow, and we took winter walks in the forest. The cabin is cozy and had lots lots of character. Thre are fantastic views of the forest from the upstairs balcony. The balcony was also ideal to see in all the New Year's Eve fireworks. Udo and his family were very welcoming. Thank you we had a fantastic time at the cabin."
