Happy with my stay. Nice breakfast. Friendly staff. Rooms are cosy and bathrooms a decent size. The place feels welcoming and is not outdated. Plenty of seating within the dining room and a good amount of space within the reception area. Rooms and bathrooms have heating. My room had a window that opened. Solo traveller and stayed in the most simple, standard room.

Nice hotel in a handy location for rail and ferry travel. Really good selection of options for breakfast. Just find it a bit much to have to pay for a cup of coffee outside of meal times when many places in the world provide that for free.

Good place to stay

Got in after the front desk nightly closure but got everything organised quickly with a prior phone call. Second room on the small side but sufficient for our needs. Breakfast was good with adequate choices. All in all, a good place to stay when in town.

Good room, cramped shower, good bed. Very clean, everything in pristine condition. Sad lack of amenities. Good breakfast though coffee is terrible. Service sometimes too robotic and cold.

Super charming hotel. Excellent location. Easy to walk to everything (note: businesses close early by US standards so not any shopping in evening. Few but good restaurants to choose from but again, check closing times). Clean and good sized room. Fine for 2 adults. Excellent breakfast. We stayed 6 nights. Would stay here again.

We booked online at the last minute and had a bit of a challenge checking in after Reception closed (at 8 pm). But the staff worked with us remotely and patiently, talking us through coding room keys and they made sure we got settled. Great breakfast spread, friendly staff, clean & comfortable. High marks as well for the gent at Reception when we checked out; he helped us book a ferry for a chunk of our return to Copenhagen which shaved off 2 hours of driving. We would definitely return here, given the chance.

No ventilation, no sleep

This hotel have no ventilation at all. After a normal danish summer day (23°) it was incredibly hot and really bad air in the room all night, making it impossible to get any sleep. As a nights sleep is the very product expected to be provided by a hotel I tried to get compensation, zero luck on that one. Must say the hotel staff was very nice, however the leadership was not at all helpful and showed no understanding for the fact they failed to provide the basic service. With well above a thousand hotel nights around the world, this was one of the very worst. The lack of ventilation also gave a soggy smell in the room. A broken toilet seat didn’t help the overall impression either. Booking this hotel ended up a quite expensive misstake. We had to find another hotel for our second night in Fredrikshavn.
