"Most of Grand Lucayan is closed from hurricane Mathew but you don't know this until you arrive. All guests have to stay at Lighthouse point which is nice but with not nearly as many amenities. 2 less pools , less convenient dining options, the Casino never reopened. Some of the staff, outdoor bar. Towel hut, seemed to have lost that happy, helpful, attitude, one bartender was even rude everyday. "This was an emergency stay. The resort that our host chose for us was substandard and we needed somewhere to stay. When I called about availability the staff was extremely helpful in guiding me through the booking process and even shared that the price would be cheaper through Expedia than booking directly. "

"For perspective on this review, I've stayed at roughly 20 all-inclusive resorts in the Caribbean. Family getaway for 4 adults May 16-19 2024. We chose this particular resort because of their on-site scuba facility (more on this later). The resort itself is very nice. Property is a bit older, but well maintained and kept clean.
