As longtime visitors to Visalia, it's delightful to see that this old place is being fixed up. Our family history with the Lamp Liter goes back decades, but we'd stopped staying here a few years back when it had really gone downhill. That's now ended, and she's being fixed up, one room at a time. We were comfy in our updated room and will definitely be back!

The room and everything were great. I purchased the room from out of state to help a family member get away from a domestic violence situation, however they were turned away when they didn’t have the additional cash deposit that is not disclosed on the website. Even after explaining their situation, they were turned away. I called the next morning and was able to get it figured out thanks to a different staff member.

Very nice rooms

Lamp Lighter Inn has been around for a long time. I came back to the area for a high school reunion and was pleasantly surprised to find the Inn was renovated with beautiful, functional rooms.

Stayed here many times around the pool area and rooms were typically nice and in good shape. This is not and never will be a luxury motel i understand. This time i got the back rooms whis had a weird musty smell, tub bottom severly cracked and stained. Needed a remodel a ling time ago. If i come back will ask to be in a poolside room as wint accept the other next time

Super cute lil spot. Only about 30-40 minute drive to Sequoia National Park. Would definitely stay here again. Nice location, close to shops. Looks vintage on the outside but nice and remodeled on the inside.

The receptionist who checked me in talked me into paying for an additional day and he knew I had someone with me I wasn’t in the room for 5 min when he had come knocking on the door to tell me that she couldn’t stay then when I left to take her home and came back I was locked out then I’ve tried to get my $490 back or at least part of it all the staff get extremely rude with me and I’ve stayed there multiple times before

Not thrilled with the new Lamp Liter : /

The Lamp Liter used to be my favorite place to stay in the area but they are under new ownership and I’m honestly not impressed. There were no lounge chairs by the pool which is very surprising to me considering it is summer time and in the high 90s/low 100s. I went out bought my own lounge chair so I could enjoy the pool area (the pool is the only amenity at this place) only to then have to leave to pool area because I had a dog on a leash laying next to me. I called ahead of time to ensure I could bring a dog and was never told the dog wouldn’t be allowed in the pool area at all. Very disappointing as I was traveling with my mom and was hoping to enjoy a pool day with her.
