<A Special Location Woven with Tranquility and Nature>
About 90 minutes by car from central Tokyo, Saiko sits at an altitude of 900 meters and is one of the Fuji Five Lakes known for its tranquility and natural beauty. Saiko remains largely undeveloped commercially, preserving its pristine nature. Strolling along the lakeshore, you can enjoy breathtaking views featuring the green of the Jukai forest, the cobalt blue lake surface, and Mt. Fuji in the background. These stunning landscapes have quietly appeared in many advertisements both in Japan and abroad, often without people realizing it. Occasionally, wild animals such as deer and serow can be spotted nearby, allowing you to experience the great outdoors just a short distance from the city. Saiko also gained fame as the place where the once-extinct Kunimasu trout was rediscovered. With ongoing efforts to protect its rich ecosystem, swimming is entirely prohibited, meaning there is no noise or waves from motorboats. Instead, you can enjoy fishing, kayaking, and SUP on the mirror-like lake surface. The lake’s compact circumference of about 10 km also makes it popular for walking, jogging, or cycling.
Weekend House Saiko is spread over approximately 3,500 m² with cottages A to E, and about 4,000 m² with cottages G and F. Each cottage is over 100 m², offering a spacious and tranquil environment that can be rented as an entire building for your exclusive use. All cottages are equipped with wood stoves, floor heating, and a full set of kitchen utensils, allowing you to enjoy cooking with local ingredients. On your private deck, you can relax in a hammock or enjoy a BBQ while taking in the views of the forest or lakeshore. In the morning, listen to the birdsong with your coffee, and at night, gaze at the star-filled sky. Escape the hustle and bustle of the city, digitally detox, and tune your mind and body through the richness of nature.
At Saiko Iyashi-no-Sato Nenba, you’ll find a restored thatched-roof village set against the backdrop of Mt. Fuji’s foothills, with cherry blossoms adding to the scenery in spring. Other dynamic natural attractions nearby include the Narusawa Ice Cave and Fugaku Wind Cave, the largest lava caves at the base of Mt. Fuji, as well as the Aokigahara Jukai forest. Kawaguchiko is just a 5-minute drive away, while Arakurayama Sengen Park-famous for photos of Mt. Fuji and a five-story pagoda together-and Nishiura Street, known for its views of Mt. Fuji and shopping district, are about 30 minutes by car. Using tranquil Saiko as your base, you can also enjoy a variety of popular spots.
