The property itself is dated and showing its age, with the restaurant and bar closed permanently. Although the library offers a pretty setting, it was unlit, and the heat was off, rendering it unusable. "

"The staff were so friendly and helpful, we loved the traditional breakfast, they were accommodating to my husband who can’t eat fish. They have a courtesy bus that takes you to Arashiyama which I didn’t know and so glad they suggested. The futons are hard but I got used to them. They also said their onsen is tattoo friendly. But most of the place is in such a spectacular forest it was so pretty in the late autumn I will definitely be going back. "
