Sanctuary House: An ocean-view farmhouse retreat

"My family loved the location and beautiful views. The house is an expanded Cape with three smaller bedrooms upstairs that share a small bathroom, plus a larger primary bedroom with an attached bath. The beds were comfortable, but the pillows, bedding, and towels could use a refresh.One challenge was the older upstairs area, where the window AC units were not properly sealed. As a result, quite a few bugs made their way into the bedrooms and bathroom. A vacuum was provided, which helped, but it was still unsettling, especially for some members of our group.Another inconvenience was the water filtration system, which cycled during the night restricting the flow of any water. Not being able to flush toilets or use water normally at night was unexpected and made things less convenient for our group.The outdoor space was our favorite feature. We really enjoyed the fire pit, hot tub, and outdoor shower. Access to Lambert's Cove Beach was another great perk, although the pass only allows walk-on access. If you're visiting during peak season, plan on using Uber or paying for parking. We visited during the off-season and were fortunate to find parking available.Overall, we had a nice stay and appreciated the location and outdoor amenities. Unfortunately, the home did not feel as clean or well-maintained as we had hoped, so while we enjoyed our visit, we would not choose to stay here again."
Beloved 5-bedroom house with Beach Passes, AC, fenced in yard, and hot tub

"We are a group of women who have travelled together for approximately 4 years. This was one of the best houses in which we have stayed. Rooms looked exactly as advertised and were a bit larger than expected. There was plenty of space to accommodate the 5 of us. The house was well lit outside - which was a relief, since we arrived after dark. Rooms were clean and the house had plenty of household items. The furniture was comfortable for long periods of sitting. Nick was very accommodating. Each time I communicated with him, he responded immediately. The view of the garden and fruit trees in the yard along with the sound of the roosters from next door made the home relaxing. We were located close enough to Oaks Bluff and Edgartown to have meals and shop but far enough to not get caught up in traffic or crowds. I would definitely recommend this house to anyone visiting Martha's Vineyard and would stay here again if I returned."

"House was nice, clean, beds comfortable. It’s quite a bit down a one lane dirt road that has no street sign. We went head to head 3 times with cars coming the other way which required backing down the narrow road backwards. Two issues: 1) the mixer valve for the shower works but needs to be replaced; 2) the water has a very metallic taste. Would be nice if there was a gallon jug of water in the refrigerator. Parking space is a bit away though it appears that the driveway used to go up to the house. There is no explanation for not being able to use the driveway next to the house, just a threat that they will fine you if you move the rocks that block the driveway."

"This was such a beautiful home. It felt warm, cozy, and welcoming, and you could tell a lot of love and thought went into creating the space. The location was perfect, close to the airport and near enough to enjoy all the action, but far enough away to have peace and quiet when you wanted it.The hosts were excellent! Communication was quick, polite, considerate, and accommodating throughout our stay. We truly enjoyed ourselves and would absolutely book with them again. Highly recommend!"
Cozy 3BR Cottage with Lambert's Cove Beach access

"In all our years spending time on MV this is the first time we have stayed in the island in June. Would say the best weather and not too packed yet for summer. This house was a great stay for my family. Saw a lot of nature life, wild turkeys and bunnies mainly. Definitely felt like a cottage with the wooden structure and setup. Nice daytime lighting all over the house and the AC was strong. AC is key for my wife and she was happy with the AC units that cooled down the entire house. Katya was great with any questions and suggestions for island activities. The house is near downtown W. Tisbury so you can hop out quickly if you need something for the house. Lambert’s Cove Beach was awesome and our first time having access to that beach (with a permit). Best sunsets there. Overall I would recommend this cabin for a more private and nature style of house living on the vineyard with easy access to all main towns and the beaches."
