"Overall, we enjoyed our stay, and you really can't beat the view! It was lovely to have a private caravan all to ourselves with such a beautiful view. But, we were shocked to find that towels and linens wouldn't be provided unless we reserved them in advance and paid an extra 30 pounds for them! There was also no soap provided in the bathroom, no extra toilet paper, and no paper towels, facial tissues, etc. so we had to go buy a bunch of essentials at the store. That is not at all convenient...

"New fully furnished house with tons of room! Such a nice chance of pace after multiple small hotel room. Ability to do laundry and make a proper meal in a full kitchen. Close to grocery store for provisions. 3 bedrooms and 3 full baths. Only minus…Front room is close to the road and there is some road noise. Rear rooms are quiet. "

"We missed the turning as postcode didnt take us to the Bothie direct, but as soon as we saw the Laggan Lock sign right by the bus stop we never missed it. The place was easy to get the keys with the key code. The room its self was not like you see in the photos, which looks all cute and colourful.... and also not much room. Saying this the bed was big and so so comfy after walking all day. Their was a small domino stove top, small fridge for the wine and crockery and cup/glasses all was...

"2nd year of staying in Sheila's lodges,she is a lovely lady who makes you feel very welcome.the lodge is situated in a lovely tranquil area, its so peaceful and quiet even the deer and sheep visit you.about 20 mins away from Fort William and easy access to aviemore, kingussie wildlife park and other places. The grandson love it."

"It is worth noting that we had mobility issues, requiring a walker, and the Alexandra provided a wonderful accommodation to meet our needs. The room (in particular the bathroom, with grab bars and a roll-in shower), the lobby, the dining areas, and the hotel in general were all easily accessible (despite the the hotel apparently having been built long before these things were considered important). The minor exceptions were that the room was a long ways from the elevator, with a couple of doors that were a tad awkward to open, and the hotel entrance with a ramp, i.e no steps, was around the side and through the restaurant. Minor, but worth noting. The hotel was an easy walk to downtown Fort William, and easily accessible to the train station and grocery store. The room was comfortable, and large enough to move around in easily. Dinner was wonderful and charming, and the provided breakfast had a large selection of foods in a well conceived dining area (we were able to get in, get our food, and put the walker so it was out of the way). Parking initially seemed a bit of an issue, but the staff actually guided us to park right by the front door. Regardless of whether it was an “official” parking space, they gave their blessing to leave the car there. We would happily recommend the Alexandra to any one visiting the area, including folks with mobility issues."
