Lodge at Little Bear is a 4166 sqft log home in Gallatin Gateway located between Bozeman and Big Sky resort. This 5+ ace property is bordered by the largest conservation land parcel in southwestern MT, and is also bordered by 12 acre private open space park with creeks. We have abundant wildlife & panoramic mountain views. Start your Montana experience on the spacious decks with hot tub and lounge seating overlooking a expansive yard and fire pit and a custom gazebo with wildlife viewing deck.
The space
Lodge at Little Bear is a 4 bedroom, 4 bath, 4166 sqft log home in Gallatin Gateway that is perfectly located between Bozeman and Big Sky resort and just minutes to the mouth of the Gallatin river access and canyon, and a mere 20 min drive to downtown Bozeman and the airport. Gallatin gateway has both restaurants, convenience stores, gas and a post office less than 5 minutes away. Yellowstone National Park is just a scenic 1 hour and 20 min drive down the road. This makes it the perfect location for your Montana dream vacation.
There are 2 full kitchens with informal dining areas, a formal living room and dinning room with a wall of windows facing the mountains and they are separated by a gas stone double open sided fireplace,. Check out our high powered telescope to see details of the highest peaks, get a wild life close up or explore the moon.
The den and entertainment area all share the southern amazing views. Our two story home has 3 king beds, two of them in master suites- one loft style, the other king in a ground floor guest room, 1 Queen bed in another ground floor guest room, and a full size sofa sleeper with spacious and charming accommodations for a total of 10. The decor is classic mountain Montana western
There is a smart flat screen TV supplied. If you have an existing Hulu, Amazon prime or Netflix account you can guest signing and out, or start one of your own!
The kitchens are fully stocked with plates, mugs, glasses, sliverwear, knives, serving and cooking utensils, as well as pitchers, bowls and platers. There are sets of non-stick cookware , mixing bowls, and even cookie sheets if you get in the mood.
There is a set of outside plastic and metal glasses, cups, serving pieces and set of plates for you to enjoy eating alfresco at our huge picnic table out back.
Additionally there are basic spices, cooking oil some basic condiments as well as paper towels, cloth dish towels, dish washer and dish soap. Aluminum foil, and some plastic storage bowls with lids are also provided to assist with food storage.
The 4 full bathrooms are all stocked with towels, hand soap, shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, toilet paper and tissues to ensure you have everything you need.
There are 2 full ironing boards with irons as well as several hair dryers available in the Lodge.
Outside, start your Montana experience on the spacious decks with large hot tub and lounge seating overlooking a expansive yard with private fire pit with seating, a oversized picnic table, and a custom gazebo with wildlife viewing deck. Here you are surrounded by world class fly fishing, and whitewater rafting on the Gallatin river, hiking the Gallatin range and paradise valley, wild life viewing, zip lining and seasonal hunting less than 5 miles away on forest service land. In winter you are 40 Min to Big Sky resort, the biggest skiing in America, and 50 min the the locals favorite Bridger Bowl depending on winter road conditions. Additionally Ice climbing and ample cross country skiing and snowshoe areas are minutes away.
Guest access
The Lodge at Little Bear and its 5+ acres are yours to enjoy! Please review house rules for property boundaries.
You will be given a guest access code for the front door 5 days before your check in. You can use the code to unlock the front door and use same code in to lock when leaving the lodge to lock the door. The code is only for your stay and expires after check out.
There are several other doors at the lodge that provide access to the outside grounds. Please make sure all doors are closed and locked when are not at the property for the safety of your belongings as well as at the end of your stay. Thanks!
Other things to note
There are two staircases to the second story of the lodge. The West side is standard with a single rail and East side is a steeper spiral with a rail that may not be appropriate for everyone. There is full access to both the West and East master bedrooms from the main standard stairwell if desired.
Getting Around:
We highly recommend that our guests rent a 4x4 vehicle during the winter months (October-May). Please be aware that shuttle services must be booked in advance, and rideshare options like Uber or Lyft are unavailable in the area.
