The staff were SO HELPFUL. When we needed to do laundry they were out of detergent, sent someone to go buy more from the Spar, and got us ready to go within 20 minutes. Incredible location, very safe, easily walkable. 10/10 will stay again on my next visit.
Reception was very helpful and the room was clean. It was a bit smaller than we expected. Much busier/hosiery area than we expected and the room was very hot.
Stayed here while at the Galway races. Excellent location close to the bus station and a short walk from Eyre Square, the bars and restaurants.
Stayed in a duo studio. It had 2 separate bedrooms, a bathroom and a kitchenette.
Will definitely stay here again.
The location was great - close to everything we wanted to see. The room was very clean but also very basic - more a dorm than a hotel. No AC so the room was very hot even with a fan, no television, not even a water glass. Ok for one night but I wouldn’t want to be there longer.
City Hideaway is was close to shopping and restaurants. The staff was friendly and very helpful. My only issue was the street and pedestrian noise. Our room faced the entrance to the building. This was out of their control. What they were able to control, was done efficiently.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
Disliked: Amenities
This is student accommodation, the room was tiny and basic so felt very overpriced at £200 per night!
The bathroom was small but okay with a decent shower.
Good location to walk into the centre of Galway. The staff were friendly.
Would have given a better rating if it wasn’t so overpriced, we were expecting a bit more for £200!
The staff is very friendly. The check-in process was quick
Room: If it's just to sleep overnight you will be happy. It's a tight fit for two people.
Corridors are very musty The space is limited in the room and no amenities are available. Better lighting in the bathroom is suggested.
Overall a clean hospitable and affordable stay, close and convenient for transportation and sightseeing.
We had a good time.
Thank you.
This accommodation was wonderful and the room, although simple, provided everything that should be expected for an off-season dorm room. Note though, that basic kitchen amenities (ie, hot water, cups, etc.) are not provided
Nice set up, simple and clean...our suite had 2 bedrooms, bathroom, and a kitchenette so it was great! Staff was very helpful and friendly. Easy walk to touristy places, next to bus station.
The staff were all super helpful but the property itself could be cleaner and better maintained. The floors were sticky and dirty, the blinds were broken and curtains had some rips in them, the shower smelled horrible. The whole suite could be cleaner.
Super friendly staff
My room seemed dusty
It’s was hot which wasn’t too bad if the window was open but if the window is open you hear everything outside and you can’t close the shade.
Excellent location right next to the bus station and 2 minutes from train station. Area felt safe and easy and short walk to main part of town. Room spacious enough with plenty of room for storage. Bathroom large and updated. Staff extremely helpful and friendly. My only complaint is that having a TV in the room would have been nice.
The hotel is in a great location. Minutes from the bus station, minutes to the square a few more minutes to the Latin Quarter and all kinds of great shops. The rooms are nice but a comfortable chair would have made them great. The shared amenities are great. They have a book exchange so bring an extra book to leave behind if you’re able to.
Interesting place to stay. Felt young again being in student housing. Very comfortable common area to sit downstairs. Perfect for singles. In the unit my cousin and I had, the doors to the bedrooms were fire doors so automatically closed and locked. (I did end up, locking myself out.)
This was a hostel type “hotel” with no daily room cleaning. Rooms are smaller than pictured. Floor very dirty and shower was small with light water pressure and mildew.
Location is great and they provide a fan for warm nights. Our room was quiet, faced away from main road.
Staff helpful with extra towels and pillows
This could not be in a better location. A couple minutes walk to the train station or bus station, several cafes and restaurants walking distance. A 10-minute walk to the tourist area (Spanish arch, Galway Bay, Latin quarter) it was extremely safe as we had to use our key card four times to get into our room which we appreciated. It was extremely quiet as we were on the back side. There was a shared kitchen which was great for the fridge. Our room had plenty of storage with two closets and full bookshelves. The bed was way more comfortable than I was expecting. They provided a fan as we were there during Ireland's random heatwave so we appreciated that touch. The room was clean however the floors were kind of sticky but that didn't bother us as we always wear flip-flops anyways. Would definitely stay here again for how quiet and safe and convenient it was.

Liked: Staff & service, amenities
It is a student housing/cheap hotel so you do get what you pay for. It is very simple and bare bone. The room and duvet are quite warm and there is no cooling aircon, so do watch out for that.
I will say that the staff are super nice and helpful. Our shower was draining super slow and we only told them the 2nd last night of the stay. They offer to switch our room, which we did not bother as it was smaller and we only had couple more night. Regardless, hey sent someone to fix it the next day. Overall, I would stay there again, as I am not a luxury traveler and it met my needs.
