"The hotel doesn't have a main entrance in the usual sense of what you would expect. You have to use a side door at the front of the property and get a lift to the 4th floor. Not a major issue, but nobody is there to assist with bags etc. The location is excellent, You are right in the middle of a major shopping district with an abundance of bars and restaurants. Opposite the hotel is a main train staion so getting around was easy. But everything you need is easy on foot and really accessible. The hotel is really nicely appointed with a central garden. Note however, the hotel is 9-floors. The garden is in the central atrium of the hotel. We booked rooms with garden views, which had a terrace (not that we used it). The amenities were good, but a lot of the hotel amenties are open to the public. There is a shop and restaurants at ground and the two floors above which can get busy with shoppers. With the garden view rooms, you have access to a lounge. This was nice with plenty of nibbles and drinks (all included in the room rate). The fitness suite was also well appointed. The only real negative for me was the breakfast. It felt like a canteen, not an upmarket hotel. Nothing was laid at your table, you had to lay your own table by collecting cutlery, cups, plates (which were plastic!). The food wasn't great either. Would i stay here again? Probably not. For the price we paid, other hotels in other Japanese cities were far better quality and felt much more luxurious."

"Staff was great. Breakfast in the main restaurant was expansive but a little crowded at times. Breakfast in the lounge was less expansive but more than sufficient and far calmer than the restaurant. Rooms were satisfactory. Lounge was a nice place to relax but I expected more drink and smack options during quiet times. "

"Overall, we loved the hotel, location and the fab rooftop bar. Great service and drinks/food there. We kept warm with heaters and blankets. Its a must do. We had a superior king room which we found a bit small. But clean if a bit bland. "

"Pros: Comfortable bed, friendly hotel staff, and a great location—close to shops and within walking distance of areas like Gion, plus easy access to nearby subway stations. Cons: Rooms are on the smaller side, though the bathroom is slightly more spacious. The walls are quite thin, so noise from other guests can be easily heard. Overall, it’s a decent place to stay."

"Great stay. Low on amentities but unbelievable location and super clean. The best view you can imagine. Great breakfast. "

"Overall rating this hotel poorly for a number of reasons. First and most importantly the beds. Mattresses were way too soft or overused and sleeping there started causing back issues by day 3. We did ask the staff and they were helpful trying to fix the situation and although it improved (they changed the mattress pad) it was still uncomfortable. So if you don’t like soft or sunken mattresses I would avoid. Second is location. Location is fine in terms of how close it is to some tourist attractions but it is one the outer edges of the “nice” area and the neighborhood feels less inviting. It’s good if you want a bit of quiet but not ideal otherwise. The good: Staff like always in Japan was amazing. Rooms are cute and pretty, albeit small. Property is overall clean and cozy. "
