"We had a really good stay at the Trucountry Inn. We had stayed at this location for 4 days and we did really enjoy this historic hotel. That bar staff were very friendly and very helpful. It is a small location in a small town so the majority of the guests at the bar were locals, it is apparently one of the very few bars in the town so every night things get lively. Not wild or crazy just lively. The room was very clean and quaint. Oh and I almost forgot the food options at pretty amazing at the bar, anyone reading this should try the nachos."
Lone Star River Ranch- Large Luxury Venue for Conferences & Retreats - sleeps 44
10/10 Excellent
"This is a wonderful, large property for large, extended families who want to get away without competing distractions. Beautiful, remote ranch with extremely comfortable and expansive accommodations— the listing does not do it justice. The White House is newer and more intimate(smaller but still welll appointed kitchen), the stone house has a huge kitchen and dining area large enough to prepare and serve meals our group of 24 adults, 11 kids and 3 infants.. it is well stocked with pretty much any kitchen gadget needed and a big deep freezer in addition to 4 refrigerators scattered through the house. Don’t worry about dirty clothes — there are 6 washer and dryer combos. The garage ‘gym’, although not air conditioned, is a great place for the kids to blow off steam if raining. The pool is a nice size and the covered patio is amazing. The outdoor kitchen was in the midst of being repaired during our stay unfortunately. The fire pit was relaxing and all porches are scattered with a plethora of rocking chairs and swings. The kids enjoyed the zip line and walks. The river is not easily accessible and given the ages of the kids and recent rains, would not have taken them on the river in kayaks. We explored a few of the trails on foot and in truck; however would have liked to have had a map of the property (both the house layout and the ranch roads) . We did kill a couple black widow spiders by the stone house which is to expected in central Texas. bring shampoo."
"We did not get to stay there due to a City water leak that had the water shut off for a few blocks, but the desk attendant was so nice and accommodating. And quick to put in for a refund for us."
"Cheap and safe for the price. Not a whole lot of food options nearby but it is right behind a subway (walking distance) so that was convenient. Very basic breakfast. VERY basic. But there’s hot coffee and cereal.
My non-smoking room did have a lingering scent of cigarettes, but the place itself dos seem clean. A/C worked well and their tv options were decent."
"Our weekend stay was absolutely wonderful. Easy to find, easy check in, very cozy, and so quiet. It was truly a home away from home. We enjoyed our stay."
