Very rustic early 1900's Cabin 3Queen,1 bedroom,2 outlets.LittleTrailCreekCabins
Take a step back in time and imagine yourself as one of the original Homesteaders in the Wild West. Live like the original settlers did,(with a few modern conviences). Just 5 minutes from Yellowstone National Park & Yellowstone Hot Springs! Short stays will be considered if there is only a couple nights available between other bookings for an additional fee. Please message me. Scenic views from every part of this 10 acre property. Little Trail Creek is 10 feet away from the cabin and flows throughout the property. The horse pasture borders the yard space. Elk & deer are on the property most days. 2 room rustic cabin. Main room has a table and chairs , hutch & a wood stove. Second room has two queen beds & cot. Listed base price of for the main cabin. There is also a second shack with a queen bed available for an extra $50 per night for larger groups. There is one outlet & one chandelier in each room. There is a separate building with a brand new modern shower house with shower, sink, vanity, changing area and toilet. It is two feet from the Homestead cabin. It sits directly across the road from the Yellowstone River. This cabin is not for city dwellers. It is a, “Glamping” experience. If you do not like camping, you will not like the Homestead ! It’s similar to camping but in a 1900’s building and everything needed, provided! It is the perfect place to unplug, recharge and reconnect. If you are afraid of natures critters, please see the listings for our other cabins- the Sage, Lookout or Aspen cabins. There is a possibility of field mice or bugs wandering into the cabin. Please store all food in the root cellar & large cooler provided. It is over by the outdoor kitchen set up with electric burner, microwave & toaster oven. There is a padlock on the door. We are trying to preserve the cabin as much as possible. It is approx 150 yards from the highway but feels like much further away. The sound of Little Trail Creek that is 20 feet from the cabin drowns out a lot of road noice. There is also a 15 ft tall fence to block off the road. Let the kids pan for gold and play in the creek or pond. Open campfire site for cooking. BBQ grill. Pots, pans, plates, utensils, lanterns, candles, bedding and towels all provided! Hike as much as you want, right from the back yard into the Absaroka Wilderness. It is hundreds of thousands of acres of public lands to explore. The beds are super comfy with a wide array of pillows choices. There are tons of things to do including fire pits, ax throwing, corn hole, trampoline, horseshoes and more. There’s even a toy shack out back! Follow the trail up Little Trail Creek. We are just 4 miles or 5 minutes to the little town of Gardiner, Montana. 4 miles from Historic Roosevelt Arch - North Entrance to Yellowstone. 45 mins to Livingston, Montana. 58 miles to Bozeman International Airport. *Let us know when making a reservation if you would like to add the additional shack with a queen bed for $50 night.

We enjoyed our stay and had everything we needed for a good nights sleep. The cabin and bathroom included many extras (including bear and bug spray) that was very thoughtful! A chili dinner was offered on our first night and we thoroughly enjoyed the delicious meal sitting around the campfire. The views, the horses, the hosts, everything was great. We highly recommend!
Friendly, warm, helpful folks. Place is as described, so recommend familiarizing yourself with listing. Beautiful area, wonderful memories made outdoors on property.
Great place to sleep while exploring Yellowstone. They had bear spray, coolers, fishing poles all for use. My kids enjoyed the trampoline and gold panning in the creek. I wish it had a mini fridge but otherwise no complaints. Lot of elk to see in Gardiner.
Had a lovely stay at the Homestead Cabin. It's as described, quite 'rustic'. Only drawback was the proximity both to neighbors and to highway, which was a surprise to us only because we hadn't looked closely at the map. Fortunately, the beautiful creek mostly covers the highway sounds and bushes separate the yard from neighbors. Amazing access to Yellowstone, which was our primary aim, anyway. Hosts are friendly and helpful.
We arrived to beautiful scenery of mountain scapes and cozy cottage style cabin. The hosts made us feel right at home! We cooked over the fire and went to bed with full tummies after long days of adventuring through Yellowstone! The babbling brook made it easy to fall asleep at night. The hot springs were as amazing as they look! Everyone throughout the towns were very friendly and full of knowledge. Definitely enjoyed being able to appreciate and enjoy this little piece of mountain living. Would absolutely return and recommend it to friends! Thanks Jim & and Shawn!
We had a wonderful time at the rustic cabins. It felt like you were stepping back in time but with the comforts of WiFi & electricity, lol. The smaller cabin my husband & I slept in didn’t have electricity but we didn’t miss it because the little stream that runs along side it lulled us to sleep each night. The bigger cabin had lights and outlets and we could charge our phones in there. The modern bathroom was great and had plenty of hot water even for our large group. The hosts were wonderful, even setting up beautiful charcuterie boards for the guests one evening. The rooms were clean, beautifully decorated and the beds were warm and comfortable. We visit Yellowstone every few years and we’ll definitely look forward to staying here again. We saw elk on the ridge in the mornings. Our hosts really thought of all the little things to make our stay as fun and relaxing as possible.
The homestead cabin is located under 10 minutes away from the North Entrance of Yellowstone National Park and downtown Gardiner. The newly built bathroom/shower house and fire pit were highlights of the stay! As mentioned in the listing, this is a rustic cabin so be prepared to start your own fire in the wood stove! We had a bit of trouble locating the cabin upon arrival because the address on Vrbo was listed as 460 when the address should have been 430. The host, Shawn, was very communicative and helpful, meeting us upon arrival with great communication throughout our stay. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would recommend the cabin to anyone looking for a minimalist stay close to Yellowstone!
The cabin was even better than we anticipated. Off-grid to say the least. (wifi was available and working well) Our family truly enjoyed getting to stay in this original homestead and thinking about what it would have been like over 100 years ago for it's original occupants. The modern bathroom was the balancing agent to this time-travel adventure. Everything was very clean and well-kept. The beds were quite comfy, and critters were at a minimum, considering the age, rustic build, and geographical location. The hosts were great at communicating way before we arrived, letting us know of things to do in and around the area during our stay. If you are looking for a "reset" to your high-tech, fast-paced daily grind, this place is perfect.
Yes rustic but had everything we needed. Hosts very helpful and right on the property if you need anything. Gardiner is a cute little town right by the entrance to Yellowstone. Hot Springs just down the road were wonderful. I’d stay there again!
It is such a wonderful experience living in the Little Trail Creek Cabins. There are places for barbicue with chopped wood. The cabin is beautiful, very rustic, very homy. The location is also easy to find. It is right next to HW 89, 10 mins from the north entrance of Yellowstone. I would highly recommend living at this place if you are traveling to Yellowstone.
We had a great time and loved the antiques around the property... The stream was tranquil and the trees were amazing! The owner was super sweet and communicative!
My wife and I stayed at this cabin over the weekend to visit yellowstone. We had an amazing stay, super close to the northeast entrance to yellowstone. The cabin was really nice and it was really fun using the wood burning stove. We woke up to horses outside of our window and you could see the beautiful mountains too. Would definitely stay again
This property was fantastic. I loved having the horses nearby and we had bugling elk on the hillside next to us. The beds were warm and comfortable and the shower was nice and hot! Plenty of firewood as well as dishes and several ways to make coffee, always important.
The homestead was a great experience. Just what we needed to disconnect from the day to day and enjoy being around the Yellowstone area. The kids loved playing with all the items around the property and the toy shack. We all enjoyed interacting with the horses. The host are fantastic people.

This property was amazing! It is just what we wanted! Shawn was such an amazing hostess! She was kind and helpful and just a great all around person! The horses were wonderful, we were able to feed and pet them. The property was beautiful and fun to hike up and and see the wildlife! My only regret is not staying longer and not being able to just at the homestead more! 10 out of 10 all the way around! Highly recomend! We did this with our 10 9 and 6 year old and they had a blast!
We walked in and looked around and left. The picture shows burner and microwave in cabin, but it was not there was a shed out back to cook at. The "trout stream" was about 6 inches wide and covered with tall grass. The "lake" was a small water hole with grass all around it you could barely see it. The windows in the cabin were silicone shut. It was right on the highway not secluded as described. I could go on and on about the way that you will be deceived by the pictures and description of this property. That was $1500.00 wasted.
This property was so much fun. It allows you to step back in time to a different place from the hustle and bustle. There was plenty of firewood for the stove and bonfire pit. The owners were super friendly and very welcoming to their community.
