The Colton is by no means a luxury resort but we love to come here because the staff is amazing. The room is always clean and comfortable.

Everything was clean and tidy. However, the motel was worn out. The furniture was a mess; the "leather" chair was worn and the 'leather' finish worn off, so the chair itself was scratchy and uncomfortable. The bed was horrible; the springs could be felt and they made a horrible noise every time we shifted. This place is fine for a very limited stay.

The price was great! Loved the free parking and closeness to everything. Our tv did not work and the internet is slow. Not deal breakers though because I’m not a big tv person.

I got a room directly next to the office. In the morning right after 8:00 am, I could hear a man and a woman arguing very loudly in the office. This went on for about 20 minutes and woke me up. Other than that the rooms could be cleaner.

We would stay there again. The location was superb walking distance to many shops and the historical party of Gettysburg. It wasn't a for star hotel, but it was decent and as stated previously, we would stay there again.

It’s affordable, clean and convenient and within walking distance of things it’s not the top of the line place but why pay a lot of money for a room your barley going to be in as long as it’s clean and no bed bed bugs im good everything was nice and I will definitely be staying here again as I have every year I come to Gettysburg

When I checked in on a Monday to stay 4 nights at the Colton Motel in Gettysburg October 2025. I asked if I could stay and pay for the 5th night. She said as of right now they are booked up for that night. she said there might be one cancellation in the next day or two?. if there is I would get first dibs. Well there was a cancellation and I got to stay another night. The staff went out of there way to accommodate me. The room was very clean & user friendly. There was 3 very good sitdown or carryout restaurants and many attractions all within a block of the Motel, an easy walk. The next time I come to Gettysburg I will be staying at the Colton Motel.

The staff was very friendly and efficient with a quick and easy check-in. I have read many of the reviews. For the people complaining, I am uncertain what guests were expecting for such a reasonable rate right in the middle of the historical area. The accommodations were nice with a comfortable bed, nice shower, working refrigerator, simple breakfast, and nice TV. The pool was relaxing and the area was quiet enough for a good night's rest. We were able to take a nice walk to get into the center of town to enjoy history, food, and shopping. For a family on a budget, this place worked out just fine.

My kiddo enjoyed the pool a ton. I think my only two complaints were the bed being uncomfortable to my liking, and ants. All the recent rain had driven ants into the room. We had a good stay otherwise and would stay again.

Colton is good for the value

The location was great, staff was very courteous and friendly. The room was somewhat clean. The ligjt in the bathroom was filled with bugs, but the hot water was great. There is no breakfast , but for the price paid, who cares. We were only there to sleep and shower.

Hard as a rock chair

My stay at the motel was fine except the single chair in the room was child size and was as hard as a rock to sit on. I mentioned this condition to the motel staff and they would see that the chair would get replaced.
