This was a wonderful historical hotel, which is walking distance to the main shopping area. It is a special destination for those looking for a unique experience while visiting Gibraltar. I do have to forewarn you, Gibraltar is undergoing major construction throughout and the cable car remains under repair making the visit at this time someone less comfortable.
Great hotel, rooms very clean, had fabulous sea view watching the ships moving in and out of the harbour, recommend junior suite for accommodation as very spacious, lovely communal areas - bar, verandah etc all with great views. Hotel ideally located, short walk to town, nature reserve, gardens and the rock! .
The staff are all wonderful: welcoming, friendly and very helpful. The facilities at the hotel are great, including the pool area, which is quiet and relaxed with plenty of loungers. The hotel has easy transport links and has great views of the bay. Definitely recommended!
Hotel is in a great location. Food was very good and breakfast excellent. Staff very helpful and knowledgeable. Overall an excellent stay.

A bit tired and soleless. Renovations to bar area continuing even on weekend. Room did not get serviced until after 2:00pm and then only when I complained. It’s a steep walk from the main part of town but possible to go out for meals and drinks.
I thought the breakfasts was expensive £18 each plus vat £56 the food was cold l left mine and made some toast

The Rock feels a little tattered. A nice hotel to be sure, but it could use a little facelift.
Fantastic location, and Laura at reception was so very helpful.
But little things like…
I asked for ice (no ice machine) and the bartender acted miffed at the request.
Breakfast buffet was mediocre, and dinner was not much better, and expensive to boot.
When we called to say the air conditioning wasn’t working in our room, we were told they shut it off for the entire facility for the winter.
So great views, free parking on-site and a clean room, but quite a few other details were missing.

Excellent hotel, great room with fantastic view. Staff were friendly and helpful. Great locatiin and walkable to centre
Positives:
-Nice sized premium room and balcony
-View to lovely Botanical gardens across the road
Negatives:
-Constant 24hour loud noise, like a giant cement mixer, coming from the port area for all 4 days
-Amazing a hotel like this does not provide a single hook anywhere in the room to hang anything, even your coats
-Daily room refresh and clean completely missed on one day, indifferent reception response with no compensation offered or acknowledged at check out
-No cabs/rank nearby, hotel cannot book any for a time, you have to be ready to go within 15 mins of them calling you one
-Cannot provide a proper town map at reception, only a poor b/w print-out they do on the printer!
-Still an iconic hotel but left rather disappointed unfortunately
We had a lovely stay at The Rock Hotel. Spacious double room with a balcony. Large shower, large bath sheets and toiletries. We stayed for the Valentine’s Day evening event and had a nice time. Staff were helpful and friendly
Fantastic stay at The Rock Hotel for my husbands 60th birthday. I purchased helium blooms in advance which were placed in the room for him. They went the extra mile and provided champagne and chocolates which was a fantastic touch and my husband was very surprised. We had afternoon tea in the hotel which was lovely and great to have a gluten-free option. We also dined in the hotel restaurant on one evening which was very nice. Beds were very comfortable and a fantastic sea view room. Staff were all extremely polite and helpful.

Lovely hotel just a 15 minute walk from Main Street. Great food in the restaurant, large bedrooms and a fabulous view looking towards Spain. Quite a few bus routes pass by the hotel, should you wish to avoid the walk up the hill. Well worth staying here. Will go back…

The room was a bit too small for us / room 332 and the bathroom was a bit of a joke ... we moved from room 206 because there was no bath .. but the bath in 332 was so small it was not fit for purpose.
overall i was expecting a much more luxurious room than we got
This is a lovely, spacious hotel. Our room had a beautiful balcony over looking the harbour. The bed was very comfortable.
The hotel is located just a short uphill walk from the bus stop.
