"We set up this short family vacation to celebrate my dad's 87th birthday in Gladstone, where he was born and raised. He and all of us were pleased with the cottage. It was very clean and cozy, and the location across the street from the lake and park was ideal. Vrbo failed to send us the promised door code for check-in, but we were able to get in with the back-up key, and the owner sent us the keypad code when we asked for it. We were challenged by the TV (multiple remotes and a guessing game of which streaming services were actually accessible), and we could not find any wood for the fireplace or fire pit, but those were minor concerns - the amenities were good overall.One thing to be aware of if your group includes elderly folks with limited mobility. The bed in the 1st floor bedroom is high from the floor, too high for my mom to get onto. She ended up having to sleep on the living room sofa bed (which worked out fine). All in all, we were happy with our stay and will seek it out again if/when we travel again to Gladstone."
