"We loved having a balcony that faced the lake. It was beautiful and peaceful. Our room was very clean and nice. The only nrgative were the too soft beds and pillows. The breakfast was ok but not great. Overall though an excellent place to stay!"

"We had a great stay! The cottage was very clean and well stocked. The kids loved the beach area and had a great time playing in the sand, even with the cooler/rainy weather. We hope to come back again when it’s sunny and warm!"

"Nice cabin off the lakeshore w/ a beautiful view, a dock and nice backyard hangout area w/ appreciated amenities like grills, fire pit, paddle boat, canoe, kayaks. Although I didn’t use them this trip, it was great that the Host shared use of these. The cabin was clean and welcoming, and the location as well as being pet friendly worked out so well for me and my dogs so I could visit my family who live close by and family from out of town that stayed in Houghton Lake. I greatly appreciated the fenced in dog run as it made it easy for me to deal with my dogs for bathroom breaks. The kitchen and amenities were also greatly appreciated as I was able to keep food in a full size fridge and not in coolers. I was able cook breakfast for myself and food prep for a dinner I made for my family. I appreciated the nice bathroom; the AC; the fans; the decor that is cute, homey, and welcoming; and even though I didn’t use the laundry it is awesome to have it and be able to use it. I thought it very nice that the Host provided hygiene items available like hand soap and dish soap as the place some of my family stayed at did not provide those. This Host also made additional PH items available at low cost if you happened to need them. The Host, Ms. Rachel, was friendly and quick to respond to my inquiry when I was preparing to book. I was also welcomed with a hand written note and bottle of wine. I will definitely consider staying here again, and would recommend this place to others."

"Our family had a wonderful stay at this beautiful lakeside retreat. From the moment we arrived, the peaceful setting felt like still waters, inviting us to slow down and enjoy time together.The home was clean, comfortable, and well equipped, with wonderful lake views throughout the day. We especially appreciated having access to the three supplied kayaks, which made it easy to get out on the water and explore. The fishing was excellent, and the birding was surprisingly good as well, with plenty to see while enjoying the quiet surroundings.Whether we were enjoying coffee by the water in the morning or relaxing together by a fire in the evening, the calm lake created the perfect backdrop for making memories.This property offered everything we were looking for in a family getaway, and we look forward to returning. Highly recommended!"

"When calling to confirm my reservation, I happened to mention I was coming into town to attend a funeral. Immediately, I was given condolences…. Upon arriving at Rivertown Inn, I not only received my room key but also a beautiful sympathy card containing this hand written message: “We are sorry for your loss. Please, let us know if there is anything we can do to make your stay easier. Sincerest condolences, Rivertown Inn Staff.” This was as unexpected as it was beautiful—and very much appreciated!!! I highly recommend Rivertown Inn!! 💜"
