"Unfortunately the cottage had not had a deep clean before we arrived, cobwebs and fire not cleaned out , dishwasher broken and down stairs loo needed a tidy, but the cottage still gave that wonderful away from it all vibe , the gardens are amazing as always, the owners met us on arrival to explain the issues with dishwasher and loo and when they would be fixed , the new dishwasher did not arrive during our stay , and l must state this did not dampen our stay as it was a wonderful relaxing stay"

"Comfortable and homely. Super garden with tables/seats etc. Great position to explore the whole of the Leyn Peninsular as well as easy drives to Porthmadog area, Canarvon area, and Snowdonia."

"the location was ideal for us, the house was lovely and big enough for 9 of us and a small dog, it was warm and cosy, had everything you need in the kitchen, the downstairs wet room needs some attention the toilet leaks ,there is a constant bad smell from the wet room. the downstairs bed room was very dusty and full of cobwebs which we had to vac up before we could use it not the not most comfortable bed we slept on could do with mattress topper. we can highly recommend The Madryn Arms in Chwilog the owners are very friendly and the Sunday lunch was lovely ( 10 mins away heading towards Pwllheli"

"House is tired and could do with some renovation.Only central heating in lounge therefore kitchen and dining room too cold to use. Upstairs shower unusable as water cold. No handrail on stairs for elderly parents.Scaffolding outside house. No outside lighting. No signage to house/concealed entrance."

"Good value but the whole house could do with a thorough deep clean and a review of condition of fixing and fixtures plus updating. It would also be good to ensure there are suitable kitchen pans and tools as would be expected for a house that houses 10 occupants. As well as a deep clean, it would be nice that someone ensured all cutlery and plates were in a clean state prior to being occupied as we had to wash everything before use. Despite this we had an excellent short stay."

"We had such a fantastic holiday. The house is very well positioned for everything - mountains, loads of beaches and coastal walks, not far from shops, but in a stunning rural location with no noise or light pollution, so the stars were amazing. The house itself is very spacious and well equipped and the lovely garden is huge. We all felt very at home, and will be back! Thank you so much for all the goodies upon arrival, and the surprise gift at the end, too. "

"We absolutely loved our stay here, the cottage is old and many would say requires modernisation but we felt it all added to its character and charm. The beds were comfy as were the sofas and the kitchen was fully supplied with everything you could need. The grounds were fantastic and we had many games of football, rounders and hide and seek with a group of 4 children under 10. We spent every evening outdoors and made the most of the hot tub and the bbq. The views from the garden are also lovely. It’s in a great location and very close to so many lovely beaches and towns. We could not have asked for a better week and we would love to come back in the future."

"We enjoyed our stay at Rose Cottage. There were some initial issues which were resolved by the owner very promptly. The information from Oyster Cottages describes a Superking size bed in the main room, It is a very comfy bed in a lovely room but it is only a Kingsized. The two singles in the 2nd bedroom downstairs can be converted to a Superking size though. My score of 3 on cleanliness is due to this being an old property and there were inevitable cobwebs in nooks and crannies but we found some of the kitchen items not to have been cleaned properly by the previous occupants. This was rectified immediately by the owner. The towels bedding and furniture were spotless. The cottage is very old with thick walls which means it stays cool in the summer. I imagine in the winter with the log burner it is very toasty. It does have electric radiators throughout. The kitchen has all the basics needed except a potato peeler. The living room is comfy and the TV links to all major streaming services with your own account. If you are using the bedrooms upstairs they are very steep like on a ship and so I'd be happier with children 6 - 12 using them but maybe not younger. The location is incredibly quiet and peaceful and there are walks from the door. But you are also very close to the main A and B roads for exploring the whole of the peninsula. After a day out with the tourist crowds it was lovely to come back and be in the quiet countryside. Overall we had a really relaxing week, we would be happy to stay in the cottage again but we have probably " done" the Lynn Peninsula as we are not "sit and play on a beach" people. If you are there, are plenty of opportunities to do that on beautiful beaches all close to the Cottage. We particularly liked the look of LLanbedrog."
