In about 30 minutes you are in Dresden (25 km), in Pirna the gateway to Saxon Switzerland (25 km) or the winter sports area Altenberg with bobsleigh run (20 km). there are also many excursion destinations e.g. Weesenstein Castle, Lauenstein Castle with falconry, Altenberg Visitor Mine, Reinhardtsgrimma Church with Silbermann organ, Weißeritz Valley Railway (small railway), Glashütte Clock Museum, Malter Dam for swimming in summer, Paulsdorf Leisure Pool or Pirna Geibeltbad in winter and many more. You will certainly not be bored. All excursion destinations can be reached by public transport.

Location description : The small village is picturesquely situated at the foot of the 576 m high Luchberg, which is made of basalt rock, between Glashütte and Niederfrauendorf on the road to Dippoldiswalde. The slopes of the Luchberg are a nature reserve due to their unique mountain meadows. Here you can admire wild orchids and other rare plants. If you let your gaze wander further, you can enjoy a marvellous view as far as the Elbe Sandstone Mountains.
