Santa Fe Getaway, Private Suite Under Glorieta Mesa
Looking to enjoy the bustle of Santa Fe AND the pristine natural beauty NM is famous for? Glorieta offers the perfect solution. Conveniently located 20-minutes east of Santa Fe along the I-25 and 15 min west of Pecos, our private suite is ideal for seeing ALL the sights Charming rooms with private big porch. 1 bedroom with a queen bed, open concept bedroom has a double bed. The sunroom has two twin size beds. The main room has a double futon sofa. Included a full kitchen and 1 bathroom with shower. The main room and the sunroom provide lots of light, while keeping you still cool during summer nights. The rest of the suite offers lots of shade as well. Books about New Mexico, maps, etc are available as are binoculars for bird watching. Books to read, family games, chess and a deck of cards also available for your enjoyment. Although we do not offer TV there is free unlimited WiFi provided by Verizon hot spot. We also offer DVD player and a nice selection of DVD's for all ages. You are only a beautiful 20 min drive to Downtown Santa Fe and its major attractions and 15 min drive to the lovely village of Pecos, entryway to Pecos High Country with many hiking trails and Pecos National Monument. Pecos River offers excellent fly fishing and nearby Glorieta and Rowe Mesas provide great terrain for mountain biking. The guest suite is separated from the main house by two large barn doors. There is a separate entry and lots of parking adjacent to our parking spaces. We encourage you to enjoy our koi ponds and surrounding gardens, watch humming birds all day long and Mexican bats sweeping the ponds in the evenings. PET POLICY: There is a one time per stay $50 pet fee for up to 2 pets. If you plan to bring more that 2, please let me know and expect an additional small charge of $25 per stay per additional pet over 2. We love pets and all well behaved ones are welcome. However, we are not a dog cannel and we asked our guests : please, do not leave your pets unattended outside nor inside the suite for long periods of times. We welcome pets, because we believe you want to spend quality time with them (or you would have not brought them and kenneled them back home or left them with a friend or pet sitter.
Both Pete and I are avid hikers and backpackers and skiers and snowshoers in the winter. We have a broad knowledge about Santa Fe and surrounding areas and we will gladly share it with you if you wish. Having your own vehicle is the best option since there is no public transportation from Glorieta to Santa Fe. During winter, we recommend that you have an all wheel or 4 wheel drive vehicle. There are no restaurants and no grocery store in Glorieta. The best place to eat out or buy groceries would be Santa Fe, just 20 min drive. But we will always have coffee and cream and assortment of teas for you in the kitchen. This is a quiet, rural area and on occasion wildlife can be seen or heard. Another thing to be mentioned is that the listed basic price is for up to 2 guests spending the night. There is a small additional fee of $20 per person per night. Note while booking. We provide unlimited Verizon Hot Spot internet. If you are a professional working remotely, please contact us directly the we could provide you with the info about the speed of available internet that you could determine if that would work for you. Thank you so much for reading. Ewa

Ewa's place exudes southwest charm. She and Pete are the perfect hosts, ready with helpful advice while being respectful of their guests' privacy. We especially enjoyed morning coffee on the porch and afternoon treats and games near the koi ponds.
We loved our stay! September was a great time to go because we didn't miss having air conditioning and also didn't need to turn on the heaters. I'm so happy that we decided to stay in Glorieta rather than in Santa Fe.
This was the perfect place for us to stay while visiting friends in Santa Fe. It’s in the mountains and away from the desert and city. It was dark and peaceful. We really enjoyed sitting on the porch and bird watching. We kept the screened windows open and enjoyed the cool breeze at night. It’s a quirky place but suited us fine. We would definitely stay again if we travel back to Santa Fe. There was slight traffic noise from the interstate but nothing excessive.
My son and I enjoyed our stay at Ewa and Pete's vacation home. The house was clean and nicely appointed. The owners are friendly, helpful and generous. We mainly stayed there during the nights, and we were happy that the beds were comfortable.
I would stay there again.
Eva and Pete thought of so many things to make their guests feel at home, from vintage games, to a list of birds to see, to blankets on the porch, to Q-Tips in the bathroom, to homemade treats for our dog!Bonus: The koi ponds are a haven for fish, birds AND humans!

Really nice stay at a remote feeling location. We felt very safe and private. We truly appreciated the sweeping off the snow after the storm the night before. Very nice couple host with friendly communications.
Everything was perfect! Ewa and her husband were so welcoming. Very beautiful location. It was nice to sit on the porch and watch the hummingbirds and relax. Just what the doctor ordered.
The space is as advertised. Remote location, private suite of rooms in an older house. The house/space has character with old wooden floorboards, antique like headboards etc ...(good mattresses though) so if you are needing a generic/spotless room like a hotel this is not your space. The wifi worked great. No cable TV but there is an old flatscreen to watch DVDs I watched several classic DVDs from the DVD collection. I hung out with Pete one evening and enjoyed his company. Has lot's of good stories and interesting fellow.
What a perfect NM experience. Lovely hosts, well appointed kitchen, NM-style casita/space, and great location (near Santa Fe and Pecos Mountain hiking). We really enjoyed our stay here. We went to a wedding at Blame Her Ranch (about a 40 minute drive) and loved being able to go on hikes nearby and drive to the wedding without a long drive (from ABQ or Santa Fe). Great experience!
Great cozy full suite away from the city. Ewa and Pete were great hosts, gave us our space and our dog enjoyed playing with their dog, Tia. WIFI was a little challenging but with their hotspot and ours we made it work. The surrounding environment was worth not being connected as we all are. We learned a lot about Glorieta Pass' history and being New Mexicans, we never knew. Would love to book this place again and probably will.
We wanted to check out Sante Fe, the Glorietta location was convenient. We were there 2 nights and it fulfilled our needs. Although a heat wave came through and AC would have been nicer. Our daughter loved the Koi pond, they let her chill in the hammock. Are hosts were very nice. Definitely recommended for those wanting to slow down from the rat race of life.
Eva and Pete are wonderful, generous hosts. Not only helpful and kind, but also so interesting to talk with.
We loved sitting on the porch, watching the hummingbird skirmishes and all the birds at the feeder. Not only did we have the cottage, we had a cozy back yard patio area and access to the Koi ponds in back of their house.
My personal favorite time was drinking coffee in the morning by the ponds, and by special dispensation, being allowed to feed the Koi. 😊
We really loved our time here. Did not want to leave.
Very nice stay. Wonderful deck with nice view and hummingbirds. Very Private. Ewa and Pete are very nice. Well stocked with cooking supplies and grill. Very near "Cairn Me Up" MTB and hiking trail. Pecos Historical Park is very interesting and free. Internet limited to 50G/B and then downspeeded. No TV. Place could use a little updating.
My family and I had a very relaxed stay with Pete and Ewa. Pete gave a detailed tour of the suite and grounds and both of them were available if we needed anything. The front porch was wonderful and we spent much of our time there. Close enough to Sante Fe to enjoy the city, but surrounded by the Pecos National Forest. Loved it!
A great place to stay. Everything was so perfect for us. A great outdoor deck with a fenced yard for our corgi. Quaint decor that we loved. Wonderful owners. Ewa and Pete were so gracious and helpful, not to mention their sweet gentle giant, Tia. I would highly recommend if you want to be isolated with easy access to Santa Fe. We would easily rent this property again.
