"Our family had an absolutely unforgettable stay at Artemis Ranch. From the moment we arrived, the host made us feel genuinely welcomed—warm, attentive, and truly invested in making our experience special.The property itself is breathtaking. The beautiful South African–inspired landscape creates the perfect setting to disconnect from the world and reconnect with nature. The kids absolutely loved exploring the grounds and were blown away by the free-roaming African wildlife—rhinos, giraffes, and so many other incredible animals. Watching their excitement made the trip even more memorable.The facilities are incredible and thoughtfully stocked. They truly have everything you might need—even fishing gear for the stocked ponds. One of the highlights was the private safari tour. You’re taken out in a fully enclosed, climate-controlled side-by-side to explore the 3,000-acre preserve, and it was an experience our whole family will be talking about for years.Another major plus: the roads throughout the ranch are well maintained, so you do not need a 4x4 vehicle. We were able to comfortably drive the property, and the freedom to explore and hike at our own pace made the stay even more enjoyable.We also opted for the personal chef experience, which was a standout highlight of our trip. "Staying at Wellspring Cottage was memorable experience. Our hosts, Wendy and Kevin, went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect. Wendy was an attentive and thoughtful host with incredible attention to detail. Flowers, a birthday sign, delicious homemade bread with honey butter, appetizers from Wenzel’s deli, a bottle of wine, bottled water, and a large selection of coffee and tea were waiting for us on our arrival. Luxury robes, slippers, bath bombs, shampoo, and soap were also provided. Wendy is a talented cook and breakfast was delicious. The slightly remote location in a wooded area ensures a peaceful and relaxing stay. There is also a beautiful, historic winery nearby in Brennan. We highly recommend staying at Wellspring Cottage. "

"It was an incredible stay in a peaceful, beautiful part of Texas. The hiking offered around the property was gorgeous with views of the surrounding terrain. We were warm after our hike so we swam in the pool, it was very clean and perfect temperature to help cool us down. The free roaming animals were sweet and beautiful, they greeted us shortly after arrival! The back porch was lovely for breakfast or coffee in the mornings. We mainly cooked outside on the grill and enjoyed a fire one night. It stormed while we were there but the cabin was spacious and the sound of the rain on the roof was like a soundscape. We would love to stay here again for longer. "
