Gonaives does not have many options for tourists. However, this hotel was very clean and comfortable! The room was spotless and smelled clean, had a full bath, tv, and AC. The hotel had working wifi. The only issue with the hotel itself is that it is dated, but that's the case with many hotels and is nothing more than a visual criticism. The person at the front desk also did not really speak French, only creole. Which was fine because we had a Haitian driver, but could maybe pose a problem to other tourists who only speak French or English. The staff were all very welcoming and friendly. The breakfast was good, with an omelette croissant, fruit, juice and coffee. That's just what they brought us, so there wasn't any choice. I don't know if you could request something different. The biggest critique is that there is no restaurant on site. There aren't really any good restaurants in gonaives. But even having a cool available with a limited menu to order from would be ideal for travelers. All in all, a great stay.
This hotel is closed. It has been since September. We could not stay there and had to find alternative housing for the night at additional costs. Please refund our reservation.
