Beautiful 5 Bed Downeast Acadia Home Ellsworth/Bar Harbor Area on Private Rd
This lovely 2,200 sqft 5 bed home is completely set up for outdoor wholesome family fun! Set in the woods on a private road this charming newly renovated home is in close proximity to Ellsworth, Bar Harbor, Winter and Prospect Harbors (hosts annual Aug lobster fest) Acadia National Park Main Entrance (bike path, cycle miles thru pristine woods, streams and lakes) and cool off and watch eagles soar at Jones Pond only .5mi from house off Recreation Rd (really a lake, see 3 pics in photos) with free public boat ramp and parking, picnic and grill area on the lake, fishing, swimming and miles of hiking. Bring your bikes, ATV's (Downeast Sunrise Trail), boat and jet skis (public boat ramp Jones Pond and numerous saltwater public access ramps from Gouldsboro to Ellsworth). There is ample parking at the property for large trailers. Here are some of the reasons the owner, family and beloved black lab Spartacus cherish their time at 7 Luc's Ln: Complete private wooded setting, wildlife and bird heaven, stargazing for hours in complete silence except for the crackle sounds coming from the fire pit and many natural sounds the deep woods offers in the evenings. The home is centrally located in the Down East Maine region including fine and local landmark casual dining to being within mere miles to the main entrance of Acadia National Park Schoodic District or hop the ferry from Prospect to Bar Harbor, a super nice day! This is one of the last remaining pristine coastal and wooded areas in the US. One common thing the owner hears from the many visitors he encounters each year is "My God, this is beautiful country!" Come see for yourself and you will want to come back every year. This home was built in 1996 but was completely renovated this year 2022. Most everything in the home is brand new and ultra clean such as all mattresses, towels and linens.

Well-stocked kitchen with pots and pans and a great gas stove (with 5 burners). In a great area, off-the-beaten path, but near to scenic Winter Harbour and Schoodic Peninsula at Acadia National Park.

Thank you Byron for ann excellent stay and for being such an accommodating host! The house is well positioned to enjoy many places Downeast. Two easy, scenic trails within walking distance and easy rides into Winter Harbor, Bar Harbor and Ellsworth. Highly recommend and we'll be back. 👍

It was my husband and me and one other couple. We were visiting Bar Harbor and every place close to Bar Harbor was very expensive so we found this nice little place. It really was not a bad drive at all over to Bar Harbor, and it was a beautiful drive as well. We spent 3 nights here and really enjoyed ourselves. Byron was a great host and the house is very well stocked. We stayed in one night and fixed steaks on the grill and sat outside by the fire. I would recommend staying here!!

We planned our New England trip by starting off in Bar Harbor to unwind, and that's exactly what we did. Byron's home was the perfect place to unplug and reconnect. We arrived Saturday night from NJ and were up and out Sunday morning by 6am to catch the sunrise and take a Sightseeing cruise. We dined out for breakfast and light lunch but preferred to shop and cook dinner. We were back to the house by 6pm to chill, eat and watch DVD movies provided by our host. Monday morning up and out early, it was rainy and overcast so we ventured to Bangor. We toured Stephen King's neighborhood via the online guide, which was perfect, then found the Cole Land Transportation museum. Fort Knox was not an option for us due to the weather.
Back at the house by 6pm. We grilled and enjoyed the firepit (stopped raining and dried up a bit) before settling in with a movie.
We left Tuesday morning to head to Salem..... in the height of witch season!!! We are relaxed and ready for the fun that awaits us. Then off to Boston for the balance of our time.
We are grateful for Byron's hospitality and the opportunity to stay just 3 nights. Most places required a full week. We had all the comforts of home. We would highly recommend this home for your stay.

This place checked all the boxes for a quick and inexpensive guys getaway to Acadia NP. It's private with dense woods surrounding three sides, and an awesome fire pit and outdoor area. Before booking, it would have been nice to know the house is an active remodel. Some things don't work, there are holes in the walls, and furnishings upstairs are minimal. We were told, after we arrived, that the well water was not fit to drink and that we may run out of propane for the stove. Until these conditions are resolved, I would not feel safe staying here with small children. With that said, it was fine for what we needed and the price was much lower than any other place around there. Honestly, when this place is finished it will be amazing, and I would love to stay again when it's done.

This property served as a good home-base as we visited Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor. The Winter Harbor Lobster Fest was a fun addition very nearby. Byron was easy to work with and accommodating, and the staple groceries in the house were helpful. We also enjoyed a lovely evening around the backyard campfire. There was plenty of space for our family, and the property could easily house a few more people.
