8/10 Good

"Basic, clean, functional, cheap. Breakfast was disgusting. There's a Bob Evans down the street."

Holiday Inn Grand Rapids Downtown by IHG

8/10 Good

"We had a very comfortable and clean room 10/31. The bed slept very nicely! Where the problem arose for me was the next morning. When I went down to get a couple of muffins for breakfast, I was directed over to their little mini store area and there was nothing there for breakfast. Like muffins or any real substance? So I was directed by someone else over to the restaurant where they had plenty of muffins. I was gonna grab a couple and the very same woman that had directed me over to the non-existing breakfas in the little store, then asked me, was I going to be having breakfast? I said, no I just want a couple of muffins to bring back up to the room. I was then told I couldn't have one. I didn't understand this at all. I can't just get a couple of muffins to take up to my room.? I've got to buy a whole breakfast? You don't have them available over in your little store. I'm sorry, that's just the way it is, she said. That was the most asinine experience I have ever had at a hotel/restaurant. Very poor service, very unprofessional."

10/10 Excellent

"Great location in downtown GR. 2 block walk to the music venues 30 Monroe and Vanandel. Security was present at the door. Nice simple room with a great bed. We parked around the corner at the parking garage for $24. Will stay again."

Harbor House Inn

10/10 Excellent

"Harbor House was great for a weekend stay in Grand Haven. We had one of the third floor rooms at the front of the building, with a view of the water (although the room is partially under the eaves at the front of the building, so the top of the window was low and I had to bend down to see out). Still was a nice, quiet room. Everything was clean. They offer breakfast, but we went out both morning we were there, so we never sampled it. But it smelled good! The staff was very nice. The attendant at the entry when we first came in gave us a tour of hte place and took us up to our room. Otherwise, the person at the desk when we came in just pleasantly said hello and goodbye whenever we would come in or leave. The housekeeping staff was almost invisible, but did a good job anyway. A bit of an funny note - the water pressure in the shower was award winning, especially for my wife. She has long, thick hair, and compared to our sad water pressure at home, she loved how the power of the water got the shampoo out of her hair much more quickly than at home!"

Looking Glass Beachfront Inn

10/10 Excellent

"The house location was directly across from the lake and waterfront park. The view from the deck was amazing! The house was clean, comfortable and well maintained. If you want to relax , this is a good choice. There were ample sitting areas and plenty of room even if the house was to full capacity. The breakfast was made by the owner and was always amazing . He was super friendly, welcoming and a great communicator. There are 79 steps that lead to the top of the hill where the house sits. They have a trolley that you can load all your stuff onto and get to the top of the hill. If you have issues, be advised there are some stairs to climb. My friend has two bad knees but she managed ok. We loved our stay and would love to come back again and stay longer."
