"We stayed for two nights after booking what was advertised as a four‑star relaxing luxury spa hotel with spectacular views. Unfortunately, our experience fell far short of those expectations. On arrival, the hotel was clearly under renovation, with builders present and brick dust throughout parts of the property. The hotel is also located directly on a very busy main road, which significantly impacts the sense of peace and relaxation. While the reception and restaurant areas appear to have been recently refreshed, the remainder of the hotel feels tired and run down. We paid extra for a suite advertised with lake views; however, these views are only visible if standing up. When seated, the view is completely blocked by the wooden balcony. The balcony furniture was broken and unusable, and there were cobwebs above the bed that gave the room a neglected feel. The bathroom was extremely small, to the point that toiletries had to be stored in the bedroom, and there were visible holes and marks on the walls. Noise was another issue, with very thin walls and constant traffic noise from the road. The outdoor areas were unusable due to overgrown weeds and stored building materials, and there was no dock as shown in the hotel photos. The outdoor spa was closed due to the building works, and although indoor spa facilities were offered instead, guests had to walk through the hotel in swimwear as the changing rooms were also closed. "We stayed here just as a stop over and it was a very small and low double bed in a huge room. It wasnt the cleanest so I was glad I had slippers with me. Shower ceiling was too low for a 6'2 person so my partner had to crouch. The main parts of the hotel looked nice on arrival, but we didnt make use of it. Nice and quiet despite the location."
