The hotel waa not open, no one there, no one contacted us to inform us the hotel was vlosed. Myself , my young sin had nowhere to stay , shocking appalling, stranded after an 8 hour drive.
The place is closed and under renervation.
You still keep taking bookings despite apparently being told not to by the ownews.
I am still waiting for my refund from you as I had to fine alternative available accommodation at 7 o,clock at night. Not very happy.
Hotel was totally closed and looked as if had been for some time. We arrive after a 7 hour car journey through dreadful weather conditions to find we had nowhere to stay! Why on earth do Hotels.com let you book a place that is permanently shut. My anger is beyond words

Comfortable bed hotel in need of a bit of tlc but
Ok for the price
Check in was ok. However after paying in at check in, person came to my door 21.20 same day with card reader in hand saying i had to pay again. Showed my reciept and was told that i still owed £4 as i had been undercharged. Sent person away and sorted this out at check out. Hotel room in need of updating. Carpets a little warn and room in need of painting. Dead spider crushed on wall and old used shower gel ontop of shower.

I was up too early on my short stay to take advantage of the amenities. The room was clean and basic. For the price if you are expecting 5 star - keep looking. I was not disappointed.

Disliked: Cleanliness, staff & service
booked two DOUBLE BED rooms, when we arrived there was only, 2 TWIN bed rooms booked. dirty toilets in first room, no TV remote in the 2nd room, one of the twin beds was very dirty sheets. Out in the corridor was an old pram, and a blood stained sheet on the floor..
Awaiting refund from Hotels.com / Eden House hotels. My guests had to move hotels due to cleanliness and non-functional facilities (e.g, sockets didn't work in rooms).
Shower broken, sheets dirty, milk sour only one large towel very poor ...when i told the receptionist they didn't offer any compensation or discounts

Lovely Stay
We have stayed here several times over the last 5 years. Yes it is a little tired but it’s very clean and the rooms are comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
We were sad not to see the cat this time.....
Room was bland. No working wall lights so had to stagger to bed in dark, toilet didn't flush properly, black mould in shower but much worse was no hot water. Reported to reception and response was they thought it had been fixed, but obviously not checked. Breakfast was a disappointment. Left to own devices. Tea in flask and choice of 2 cereals, jam for toast was either strawberry or blackcurrent from an opened jar, which had been previously been dug into without a clean knife (no spoon available). Had to ask for butter. Glasses were greasy as were plates and tea cups didn't fit saucers. Whoever is responsible for checking standards is not doing their job. I strongly suggest you find alternative accommodation
Awful experience. Room was dreadful, in need of complete refurbishment. The bathroom in particular was mouldy, plumbing poor, sink didn’t drain. Not enough staff felt really sorry for the few we saw who are expected to do everything.
The room was mouldy and dirty.
You can hear everything through the wall incl other people using the bathroom.
They served garlic butter with the jam and toast at a very disappointing breakfast service. The dining room was a mess where people had had breakfast and nothing had been tidied, coffee was cold.
Very disappointing, staff were friendly , breakfast ok but the general cleanliness of our room , room 1 was poor. The room is in need of a full refurb. Avoid room 1. No heating till about 5am ( even though it was 2 degrees outside) Wont stay again.
