Needs some work

We stayed in the executive suite, bottom floor, which is falling apart a bit. Jacuzzi in the room caused water damage to the ceiling.Door to our room was coming off the hinges, the 2 sliding glass doors didnt have working locks so they had sticks in the track and no room service from the restaurant. It was clean and the bed was comfy. Staff was awesome! Free breakfast had huge waffles but they were rubbery.

Stayed here for a family Christmas party for one night. Water park for the kids was wonderful. We requested that all 4 rooms be close together (all separate reservations, too) and that was accommodated by the professional hotel staff. Location directly on Houghton Lake was beautiful, even in the winter. Hotel was clean and nicely decorated for Christmas. Bathroom linens were plush and abundant. The king bed was firm and had high quality linens on it. Breakfast hours and selection could be improved with offering some kind of protein such as eggs and sausages. The carb-laden breakfast was not healthy and the hours of 6 to 9:30 am was too early for us. We had a great time overall and would definitely come back here.

I booked this hotel specifically because it advertised a newly renovated pool, as swimming was the main reason for our stay with kids. Upon arrival, we discovered the pool was closed. This information was not disclosed prior to check-in, which was extremely disappointing and felt misleading, as the pool was the primary amenity we were looking forward to. Beyond that, the condition of the room was unacceptable. The beds are extremely saggy and clearly well past their usable life. The floors are uneven and pose a noticeable tripping hazard. Paint is peeling on the walls, and the adjoining room doors do not feel secure, which was concerning. Overall, the hotel is in poor condition and did not deliver on the amenities that influenced our booking. I would not recommend this hotel and would not stay here again—especially for families.

It was nice that the property is right on Houghton Lake with a pretty lawn out back. The room was clean and comfortable and all staff I encountered very pleasant. Balcony was not clean--lots of dead bugs, cobwebs. It was a nice place to sit but there was a large group on the lawn under the balcony playing loud music on an outdoor speaker for HOURS.
