Of all the pueblos blancos (white towns) we visited on our road trip through Andalucia, Grazalema was one of the prettiest.

Nestled on the steep rocky slopes of the mountains within the Sierra de Grazalema national park, Grazalema is surrounded by stunning vistas and a fantastic choice of hiking routes through them.

There's also an artisan textile factory in the town that still employs traditional weaving methods.

"Fantastic pre-arrival communication from owner Gina, and a warm welcome when eventually reaching this idyllic place. Note that the location-pin shown on Google Maps is not accurate. It appears to show the accommodation to be in an urban area - it's not - it's very remote! So ignore any booking sites that state that there's a bar or shop within 100m - there really isn't! "Boutique hotel. Takes you back in time. Clean room. We were in room 19. That had a suite and a huge tub. And wonderful art work and Antigue pieces. Charming. Great location. About a four minute walk to the Arab quarter and 5 minute walk to a lookout point from where you can hike down in the gorge. Would recommend a sunset hike to get great pictures. The staff is very friendly. We did not have breakfast. AC worked well. There is elevator at the property. "
