Footpath near East Angrove This photograph shows a view of a rather muddy section of the footpath that runs between Yarm Lane (near Great Ayton) and the A172 road (near Stokesley). The section of the path shown in this scene lies just north-west of East Angove. The picture was taken looking in a north-easterly direction towards Great Ayton.

Cobwebs on a Manure Heap Just off Easby Lane the farmer has dump a load of manure ready for spreading over the fields. A film of spiders' webs covers the whole heap shimmering gently in the morning breeze. The barn is new and in the distance is Easby Moor with Captain Cook's Monument just off to the right.

Footpath into Great Ayton The path runs quite straight, southwest into the village, passing through a series of kissing gates before emerging onto the road.

The Stone Bridge Carrying the A173 through the village, bridge was built in 1909 replacing an earlier one dating from the late eighteenth century. The building reflected in the River Leven was formerly the Temperance Hotel. Opposite was Worthy Pearsons, the newsagents (first floor only visible above the bridge parapet).

We were given an upgrade to a newly refurbished room with a sea view. The room was huge and comfortable, with a super-kingsize bed. Large bathroom with bath tub and shower. Fantastic view out to sea. Staff were friendly and helpful.
