"We had the most wonderful stay at La Petite Mirabelle. Paul and Dawn, our hosts went out of their way to ensure we enjoyed our holiday to the full - nothing was too much trouble. The gite itself was cosy, exceptionally clean and well equipped. The swimming pool, with its amazing views and excellent cover, was the best we have ever experienced anywhere. "Although a little difficult to find, this is a beautiful and peaceful house. The pool is large and worked really well for us, we were 4 adults and 4 children aged between 4-9. Plenty of garden space for the kids to run around and a lovely BBQ area. A couple of disappointments, firstly I must point out that some of the pictures online are not that accurate or at least for us. "I had a wonderful stay at Sophie & Craig’s gîte. The thing that made it was the warm welcome from Sophie & Craig. It was January and so, cold, but Sophie would bring me a wheelbarrow full of logs for the wood-burning stove every morning! My dog, Jack, played happily in the garden and it was perfect for him, with lots of walks. All in all, a great stay!"

Voor ons was dit gedeelte van de Dordogne te vlak. we houden van motorrijden en in dit gedeelte miste we de bergen en ook de mooie wandelroutes. Ook was het te warm om dit alles te ondernemen, misschien hadden we meer ondernomen als het wat kouder was. Maar de vrijheid van de accommodatie was geweldig. "Nous avons passé 4 nuits en famille dans cette charmante maison. A notre arrivée, nous avons été accueillis par les propriétaires qui nous ont donné toutes les informations nécessaires. Le logement était propre, chaleureux et très bien équipé. Les chambres et les salles de bains étaient spacieuses. La maison est bien située avec plein d'activités à quelques minutes de voiture (randonnées, château, villages,...). Nous reviendrons avec plaisir."

"Communication difficile avec les propriétaires (même en Anglais) literie très confortable, chauffage un peu limite vu la taille des pièces, pas de baby foot, très beau parc, accès restaurant limité à 2 soirs par semaine, non précisé sur offre, fuite sur la machine à laver, pas d'aspirateur, il a fallu demander un balai. Location convenable sûrement encore plus agréable en été. Très bien pour l'espace pour les enfants."

"This is a lovely quiet house in a small hamlet not far from the very pretty towns of Bourdeilles and Brantome. The house is spacious inside and very well-equipped but the real delight is the huge and totally private garden surrounding the relatively large (10x5m) pool. Perfect for sun-worshiping, swimming or just relaxing. There are also many good walks and biking possibilities from the house through the nearby villages and facilities for canoeing on the Dronne river."

They made us feel so welcome and accommodated everything they could, without being intrusive. The house is beautiful, extremely well renovated and well appointed with lots of style and home comforts. "Perfect paradise for a bohemian break . Quirky cottage in a quiet corner of beautiful rural France . Directions a little difficult to follow but the final discovery worth the search ! Staircase to the bedroom balcony makes a bathroom trip in the depths of night a precarious adventure but the overall ambience and amenities are delicious . Superbly comfy sofas and French scrabble makes the evenings simple fly by ."

"The site was a little hard to find after a long day's drive to get there but well situated for food and wine, range of restaurants, shops, etc nearby. Helpful staff who spoke enough English that my rusty French wasn't necessary most of the time. Would definitely stay again. "
